I am starting to redo a set of FST doors. I can find the door moldings/felts in searches but nothing for the corner glass window (Plexiglas). Had anyone found a solution for this molding? Getting new Plexi cut, but molding is toast. Could I cut up a molding for the "bug catchers" to work?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Will let you know, thank you.

I was just looking for the same thing. Here is a link but I don't know anyone who has actually bought or used these. If you get them, please let me know how they are.

FJ40 Factory Soft-Top Parts

I have a set of these from years ago. They look well done, but I have not assembled my doors yet. Have all the parts and everything is painted, just other stuff higher on the list.

I ordered a set. Something always seems higher on the list!

Lexan is way tougher than plexi. They use it on skidder cabs. Might be worth a few extra bucks.

X2

Lexan is far superior to plexi.

It can also be formed easily. Or at least fairly easily. The biggest chalenge is that it it absorbs a small amount of water. in order to have a good mould from it, it should be preheated for a couple days or so and then moulded. After heating it slowly, I'd recomend draping it over a positive mould and using vacuum to ensure a it fits tight to the contour while it cools. I'm sure there are lots of videos online on the topic.

Do you have any pictures of the moulding?

Just a quick update, any body know anything about Genesis 4x4 or @cruiserloser Website took my money, never got a confirmation, or returned call/email following multiple requests. Just a word of concern for those others out there at this point. I tried to search the forum, @cruiserloser told members to look at the new Genesis web site so figure he/she may be connected. I have tried a conversation with them also her on forum and no response, but member has been active.

This source has been around since before AATLAS' customer service went south.

Never heard any feedback...positive or negative.

@Racer65 you should get this part going.

I ordered from them and they shipped like they should....this was 4-5 years ago though. Could be an orphan site at this point?

That's great. Exactly what I am looking for. Like I said, just no response from site/number or email.

Still looking.

Does anyone know what percentage of the 40 Series are FSTs?
As for the weatherstrip, it looks quite feasible to make it. The prerequisite is having a set of samples.

I am not certain but @whitey45 might. I have a decent set I can provide if you would like to borrow them. Just let me know, Roger.

bought and soft top and doors years ago. It came with a extra set of door plexiglass that had been tinted. The fixed vent windows had the weatherstripping. This included the windshield channel, Kayline top including the aluminum rod for the door headers. $150 I took off work to get there before the vultures showed up. This was a while ago, it was listed in the classified section of the newspaper.

All - some explaining is in order.

Name is Dave Ehlen and I run Genesis 4x4. Feel free to PM me to start a conversation.
I have been having issues with the paypal commerce function on my website . Specifically, I am not being notified when orders are placed. I will shutting down my site and getting to a simpler set-up. I deeply apologize for the hassle this has created.
If you have sent me an email or tried to contact me and I have not responded, please send me a PM.

To be sure, I make the glass sets to order (this takes a few days), but I stock the weatherstripping and have a number of sets in stock.

Thanks for your patience and again, please reach-out to me directly if there is something I need to resolve.

PS: for those considering, the complexity and expense is not in the weatherstripping profile itself, though new molds and dies are not cheap. The issue is in the complex cutting (4x) and bonding (4x) that must be done by hand for each piece and mirror imaged for the pair.

If there are other parts of the FST door that you are interested-in seeing/borrowing, please let me know. I have most of these in NOS.

Thanks,

Dave
