It’ll be interesting to see how much the LC300 and GX550 have in common once the YouTubers get their hands on some examples. I’m personally curious about the major running gear (e.g. engines, transmission, axles, cooling, etc).

I think I would say literally the same in reverse.@Phillyd2 you're never going to get anywhere with these people. They talk in circles, insult and rarely respond directly to any challenges - you'll get a laughing emoji and the same fantastical "the 300 and the 250 are the same vehicle" comment. That's all they have have (which is painfully transparent to most). Some of them work for the brand in some capacity, so an objective opinion is just out of the question.

There's one component anyone has been able to identify so far that differentiates the two (in a material way). You have any more? Tell us.
LOL if by ‘one component’ you mean the entire powertrain and electrical sub system then you’re right.
Since it’s already been locally declared that not having E-KDSS is meaningless or even beneficial we can also take that off the list.
If words no longer have meaning then it leaves us with the only possible conclusion that the 250 is the same or even better than the 300 / GX. And the only basis for disagreement must be HATE!
Where did the LC hurt you?
What specific part of the power train is different between the gx550 and lc300? The GX isa 250 trim. Or are you suggesting that a 1gr 300 isn't a land cruiser because it's even less powerful? The LC 70 must be removed as well from the nameplate.
Ekdss is great I'm sure. But it's also limiting for anyone who wants to build beyond stock. Just like kdss is now. But it's also on one trim of 300 and one trim of 250. There's no difference on kdss between the two.
Words have meaning. You're not using them to communicate any rational thoughts. At best it seems you're arguing that one trim of the 250 isn't as desirable as another trim.
So, you think the gx550 trim is more desirable to you? That's cool. I like it too. The hybrid models look good as well.Odd that anyone would honestly ask such a absolutely absurd question, made even more absurd when I have repeatedly posted my very positive thoughts and experiences with the platform.
And I’ll just consider it an accident that you felt I was referring to the difference between the 550 and 300 instead of the 550/300 vs 250. Honest mistake I’m sure.
It really would be better to simply state one’s preference for the 4 Cyl TT Hybrid instead of this kind of silly internet game of phony questions. However once that preference is stated, one must also accept the annoying notion that not everyone will agree. But don’t worry, the thing is coming and nobody online will have the power to stop anyone else from buying it.

Why not just say you like the V6 better? Shouldn't be that hard.
That kinda seems like what you're doing.![]()
new toyota hybrids come with a 10 year 150k mile battery warranty and 8 year 100k mile hybrid system warranty, and ive seen toyota prius models drive into the service center with 300k miles going strong. The hybrid system will not be the weakest link of the 250.So I’ve owned a nice 40, a nice 80 and a built beautiful 100. Sold each one as I upgraded. Then after the 100 I got a new Sienna Hybrid 4cyl.
Since having the Land cruisers, and Sienna I have a perspective of that new 250 that isn’t so negative.
In my opinion, It will be a very long time before electric vehicles are able to be the standard. To much need for gas and not enough infrastructure to sustain the car industry to make them.
In that mean time, gas prices will exceed our expectations I’m sure. $5 will eventually be the norm… or close to that.
So,The Lx 550 is great and even though a twin turbo 6cyl is awesome… the 17mph sucks!
I believe the 2024 toyota 250 “4runner” Land Cruiser is going to be a good Choice.
At first I was against it, then thought about it for a good bit of time.
Made in Japan, And Toyota has been making the hybrids for about a quarter of a century…. So I’m sure they made it correct.
Regardless… if you buy a 6cyl 4runner rite now and upgrade it with overland items, you likely will get 15mpg and be trail ready.
I’m sure the new 250 LC will be a better version of that and get around 20mpg if modded moderately. That’s pretty intriguing.
Ps
I highly doubt Toyota would badge something “Land Cruiser” that wouldn’t hold up to rugged terrain for the next twenty five years. Just need to buy a battery after 150k miles.

If nothing else - I'd bet it'll have a plastic fuel tank so it won't ever rust at the seams. After 20 years and 210k miles, the seam on my gas tank is leaking (thank you New England salted roads). I've never cheaped out w/ my Hundy so not going to start now although most will think I'm nuts since I'll prob be selling it when the 250 comes out. Just ordered new tank ($800) and fuel pump ($325) from Toyota so it can keep on truckin' for the next 20 years.
Haven't been on this thread in a while - glad to see all the banter back and forth. I'm still looking forward to the 250 - hope it's as good as my 100.
I was very excited and very enthusiastic to see the photos of the new 250 and 550 but after seeing these models in real life at the Overland Expo, my interest dropped considerably.
Please elaborate.
