i will be back to fordyce this thursday night / friday to recover my buddies 4runner we left on the trail with a broken tie rod end. Apparently, its also sierra trek.

Well, 4runner recovery was a success!
Also forgot to mention, last weekend my fiance was doing most of the driving. She is not a bad driver by any means. However, i believe that its just another testament to how great these trucks wheel especially with the addition of a nice 3 link.

Real estate doesn't appear to exist for cantilevered, any more than coilovers outboard the frame.

Suspension is EVERYTHING
Let's see.....I never saw the truck hit a whoop section. Never saw it land those weak jumps. All I saw was some lame close ups of the suspension going over a dirt road my 95' Mustang could have gone over if I still owned it.

Yep, that video shows nothing about the suspension, I will take my "stock" 80 on that gravel road and put a camera under it.
If you more time to waste. The SDHQ FJC is back. Once again, no whoop sections at speed. No jumps, no real test of the suspension. Just some s***ty music, ads for sponsors and kicking up some dust with the loud(er) pedal.

That video actually shows the suspension working a bit. I wouldn't want to do that with my 80. lol.
Booger, do you think running an upper link and stock radius arms with the front bolts removed would be a good alternative to a complete 3 link? Is there a worthwhile amount of articulation to be gained(or bind to be lost) on this setup or is it not worth it?
Obviously making and burning on the lowers is not a problem if one can do the upper but I was thinking of running hitch pins on the front bolt holes in addition to this setup with the stock radius arms and an upper link which should retain close to stock driving characteristics when on the pavement with the pins in and a ghetto 3 link(less so than the original hitch pin mod though I guess) when off the pavement.
What do you guys think? It's a compromise but that's what I need right now.
