My Fj80 high pressure line has sprung a slow leak. I saw that that particular part is discontinued. Does anybody know what the best bang for your dollar after market one would be?

I should have specified its a 1991. I think I saw that gates company though when I was browsing for one

I have a ‘96. But a manufacturer call Rein makes a replacement HP PS hose that appeared to be well made & had the exact factory brackets like OEM, as opposed to the Gates version.
worth taking a look.

I've put a couple of the Rein high-pressure hoses on my rigs. I'm more impressed with them then any other aftermarket hose I've seen, they're very much like the factory hose, including the extra protective wrap. Some (maybe the Gates? can't remember) have an odd-sized 16 or 18mm fitting at the box, instead of 17mm like the factory one.

agreed. Just went thru this

Rein x2

I have the Rein HP hose. I’m pretty sure I’m going hydro-boost brake booster on my rig within the next couple weeks.
Im currently cobbling all the parts needed.
hydro boost will replace the HP hose with 2 separate SS lines. One going to the booster & one a return line.
once I know I have the parts & it will all be going together, I’ll have a Rein hose for sale.
you probably don’t want to wait til then, but I should be selling mine soon.

Let me know, I didn't plan on fixing it till summer really. Its not leaking bad. just enough to get low every so often.

Great info here.
I just ordered the Rein HP hose.
China wins again... Where is the Gates brand made?

I just received my Rein PS hose...One further observation for folks that find this thread, I noticed that it is using Nichirin Japanese Hose which is cool. Looks much higher quality than the one I had before from Napa/Gates that failed quick. I too am impressed.

Wow, the Rein does seem like a high quality hose, when I saw it was made in China I considered just keeping it as a spare but I'm thinking I'm going to run it.

As others have reported, the hose is Nichirin Japan.

I'm in the process of replacing all my steering components, adding a wits end cooler and lines, the wits end bits are So sexy, super nice 👍
