I wish it was that obvious. I did replace the power steering hose and connectors when I replaced all of my leaking engine gaskets. So now, the engine compartment is dry.Hose leaking ?
It’s probably in the gear box.I wish it was that obvious. I did replace the power steering hose and connectors when I replaced all of my leaking engine gaskets. So now, the engine compartment is dry.
Air, or do you mean something else. It’s probably in the gear box.
Hopefully that is the case and the air bubble will work itself out.I had that problem with left turns about 15 or so years ago and I can't for the life of me remember if it went away on its own or if I had to do something.
I want to say it was because I got a bit of air into the system and it just took a good while to eventually all burp out, and I made sure I constantly checked the fluid level until it eventually remedied itself.
It could be air trapped in the box, or it could be the box itself going bad.Air, or do you mean something else.
Hopefully that is the case and the air bubble will work itself out.
Thanks
Did your issue resolve itself? I just did a flush a few days ago (groaning when warm now too so I'm prepping for a rebuild with a new bearing) and had a couple spots on right turns since but the more I drive the more they're working their way out. I'm sure at this point it's just little pockets of air getting stuck in the gearbox.Air, or do you mean something else.

That usually makes an amusing sound when it resolves…It could be air trapped in the box, or it could be the box itself going bad.

On a side note, I flushed with Amsoil ATF and it made a noticeable difference versus the 2.5 year old Red Line fluid I flushed out. Steering seems to take even less effort overall aside from my air pockets and even though the groan is still there it's much quieter. Hopefully it'll stay that way until I can rebuild as soon as I get the parts I'll need. I haven't used any Amsoil stuff before but I'm honestly impressed.
Does anyone know if the bushings for the 62 PS pump is the same as the 60 PS pump bushing?
