FJ60 Door Panels: Customizable and Affordable

Got my set and installing them now. Not having much luck getting the plastic fasteners into the holes in the door. Any trick to get to pop them in so I can get this new cards attached?

I took a utility knife to the in between path and kinda honed out the hole here and there to get the fasteners in on a couple of I recall right.

What did you do for the window felt that was attached to the old OEM door Card? Any way to salvage that for this new set up or better to buy a set of outer door felt and use that now?

I had an upholstery house reuse the felt and the oem fabric, they replaced the vinyl. I can’t say for certain how it’s attached but they did salvage them.

Got one installed! Will send pics once I finish the other 3. Will get to these tomorrow.

@Jasonredwood advice was perfect. Didn't know I had to pull the tabs out so the new fasteners would go in. When they repainted my FJ60, they painted the inside of the doors and the old white fasters were pained over, so didn't see them when I tried to install the 1st time.

Pic attached, just took a unibit and basically rotated up from original hole. New weatherstrip clicks right in and is very secure. View attachment 1907713

Alternative solution:
"cityracerllc" in California's Bay Area. City Racer LCC

Don't get 70 series, get External 60 series and Dremel out your inner mounting holes to fit them!
It works well!

Did you mount the speakers right to the door panels, or are the grills the only thing attached to the door panels?

Mounted the speakers to the door panels (had to cut the panels first to fit) and the screws are also into the door metal to keep them snug and safe.
