What’s the story on those springs up front? Like them!
I found the post on a Facebook Page from a guy names Tel Ubben. Think they're 80 series springs. Was an 80 diff but went to a Dana 60 from what I can read.

Next stage of the project is rust & body.
Floor Pans, Roof Skin & Rear Quaters. Usual spots.
I've been in discussions with a mate who's agreed to help me out whilst the car is at the shop.

Heres a photo of the Front Section of the car (See steering wheel on the correct side of the car)

Other photo is the fabricators works, which I am super impressed with.

Wow, that floor pan is mint, very lucky to find that skill set.

On the bench tonight is the Superior Engineering Tie rod and Relay Rod. Polished up, greased and ready for install. Reminds me I need to sort my work shed out a bit better.

Another day on the tools. Removed the extended shackles to assist in passing Australian self appointed fun police 'engineering' - back down to a 90mm anti inversion shackle.

Also installed those grouse steering rods.

We're now going to start on the final parts of mechanical.
- Hand brake.
- New hard Brake Lines.
- Install tailshafts the right way (my bad)
- Bleed Brakes
- Bleed power steering.
- Throttle Cable.
- Remount the Vac Tank
- Delete the Catch Can

Another rare thing to see is me actually working without beers.

Went out to the property to check on the other fj55 spares cars. Found a rear swing bar and a few other goodies.

Drove back to the shed to replace some Uni Joints

your work space is coming along.. see you opted for the fancier press! my 20T is a lot bigger and STILL leaks..

So with the rear swing out, hows that going to work with a rear winch? Mod to suit?

Rear Bar needs to be remade as it's slightly bent.
It has 4x4 center bolt holes and 4 outer bolt holes to mount onto the chassis.

I plan to use the 4 outer bolts, and extend the towards the rear wheels with U Bolts to connect onto the chassis. Mimic the look of the sliders.

That should leave enough space to mount the winch into the rear chassis. Cut out enough space for the fairlead and brace around.

So turns out after a few beers the brain does funny things. Imagine installing both tail shafts backwards, with the slip joints at the diff end. Fml.

Safe to safe, I've got some good experience with uni joints now.

One has a small nick which Ill need to smooth out to finish off.

Hammer too big?

A good day behind the grinder. Floors tackled and rust cut out. Check the pitting on the top section.

Worked the drivers side (Right hand of the 55) panel. Seat mount being trimmed down 25mm to fit my new Seat and Center Console + 15L Fridge/Freezer subframe.

Lined out ready to put in the rolls.

With the custom shock towers comes mounting challenges. Trailing out these M16 x 130mm Galvanised bolts until I find some high tensile.
