FJ55 Winch Extensions

Returning to the FJ ownership world after a long hiatus. Purchased an 73 FJ55 with my 16 year old and we are looking for Winch Extensions.

Open to buying a set or rent/borrow a set to fabricate my own.

Or if there are insights into how to mount a mount an M8247 without a set it would be appreciated. It looks like my bumper options are FJ40s or custom FJ55. All the pics I see have the extensions either way.

If you are leaning toward fabricating your own front bumper, then you don't really need winch extensions. Search in the FJ55 section and you will find several that have been mounted on custom bumpers. Although I haven't gone quite that far, I did ponder some possibilities at one time. Great that you bought a pig to work on with your 16 yo. He will learn a lot.
