So a little update. No pics to speak of. I've been it parts collecting mode.

Having some luck.

Found out it was just as cheap to buy wheel brake cylinders from My Toyota guy than it was to buy them (none oem) from CCOT. Dohhhh.

I did just finally brake down and buy new outside mirrors. 122 for both from Toyota. Ohh they are nice. Bling bling.

Got the rear brakes done and started on the pass front. Drum was stuck on but after beating on it with a brass hammer for an hr it finally came off. Only to find the hub had a seal bad and everything had grease all over it. Ordered front end rebuild kit.

Today rebuild the right front hub and installed all new brake components. Tomorrow the left one and then install the brake master and bleed everything.

Sounds like your making some good progress there Marshall. Can't wait to see your stocker next to my WTF. You coming down to Clemson tomorrow to wrench on my pig a little with me and JP? We are starting up about 2 and then heading to the monthly meeting when the time is right. I'm working on brake issues as well tomorrow.

PS your pic looks brown not pumpkin but we know what you mean.

Hi, Like your rig, nothing beats the stock look.
Go with the Brown/white - makes it look very aussie (the most common colour combo down here)
Anyways one question

Where do you buy that plastic gear for the rear window?
Ive just bought a pig, and the current owner say's the electric rear window is very erratic, im figuring its this plastic gear causing the dramas.

If I could have an email address of the supplier so I can see if they post down here, i'd be much appreciated..

Dave

Marshall if you still want to see what stock exhaust was like you can check mine out. Probably about the only thing stock left on it.

Nice Job -- nice story --

Keep the pictures coming -- Did the 75 not have headrests --- mine are missing also.

Sorry to bother you again,
The Dealers here have no idea about that plastic gear, I can only buy a whole motor - for $540.00

Would you be able to help me out with a part number? Might make finding it a little easier..

Dave

Well a little update. It's been slow working on the pig. Both cruisers are down. (been switching back from a weber to an Aisan on the 40)

Have been starting it up weekly. Finally got all my brake cylinders and new brake pads on. Had the drums turned. I bought the cheepo brake master from CCOT and it seems to be having problems. I'm thinking of just spending the money and buying the toyota $250 brake master and being done with it. Also still learning how to adjust drums. Going to try and replace the oil pan gasket tonight. We shall see!

Adjust them all the way out then 3 clicks back in. My rears work great that way. Its to bad they are basically providing all the stopping right now.

Update.

I found a manufacturer in AU that makes patch panels for the front lower fenders and rear quarter panels (- the corners:frown: ) They should be here mid feb. I found a club member who has a new OEM front fender and a bunch of other parts. So things are looking up on the pig. UNfortunatly I fell 2 weeks ago walking out of my house and severly sprained my ankle. So I have been out of actiona and will be for anothe week or so. Things have gone a lot slower than I really wanted but all in all I'm pleased.

Any more been done to this Cruiser??

Only update I have right now is that I have bought a new Aisan brake master to replace the new CCOT piece of crap that I put on it and could never get it to bleed.

I took all the oil pans bolts off in an attempt to take the pan off. Having never been off it is on there really good. Went through a whole fiasco with try to get front turn signals. Man-A-Fre sells them but after 2 months on backorder I just gave up with them. Started looking else where. Found Cruiserparts.net sells them. After about a month of them saying they would go out tomorrow or well they are on a container or they will ship friday I got pissed and cancelled the order. Called $OR which I swore I would never do and they had one used one for like 40 bucks bought it and a new FJ40 turn signal to make two good units. The day after I get them in I get a call from Cruiserparts stating they have new Turn signals in. I bought them knowing they may never have them again.

In the mean time I've found various used 55's that I working on getting parts from. My sheetmetal from AUS should be here this month. Working this weekend on getting the old girl driveable. Then I can start on the body.
