I recently purchased a FJ40 and it doesn't have a stereo/cd player or speakers. There is a blank where the original stereo was located. I recently purchased a lockable center console with a stereo den. My question to you is: What is your recommendation for speaker placement or installment? I am most likely buying marine speakers and leaning towards mountable marine speakers on the roll bar facing forward towards the driver and passenger headrests. What are your thoughts and/or advice?
Thanks!
Matt

Matt,
I bought my roll bar covers from Specter offroad (SOR).I have my stereo in a center console unit also and I used marine speakers and mounted them to the cage using muffler clamps.I still have yet to install any front speakers.

This is what I did...(post #35)

The speaker portion of the box is enclosed with poly-fill. (this set up assumes that you have a forward facing bench seat) I'm still working on how I'll do the front speakers. I'm not a big fan of covering up the kick vents.

Bsevans,
How do you like having the speakers right above your head? BTW... love your rig

Here is what I did, I used Boston Acoustic separates,.. I've got a set of marine speakers in the rear corner of the truck, just like bsevans.

Lots of threads on this topic - a search will provide lots o' pics and recommendations. I like wakeboard speakers mounted to the rollbar.

Thanks for the responses- I'm still trying to figure the best route. Anyone else please chime in

Asi lo tengo en mi FJ40, aunque no es una buena opcion acusticamente hablando, es practica!.

BTW: sorry but... my english suck! :crybaby:, however, I try!

Here is what the PO did; amp under the passenger seat. OK if you're driving slow around town, but pretty worthless on the highway with the top off. If I'm driving more than 50 miles I just use my iPod and Sure earphones.
