FJ40 Firewall Grommet sizes

I measured my FJ40 firewall for this info (so far)

Round holes:

A) Outside diameter 2 1/4 inches
Inside Diameter ?

B) Outside diameter 1 3/4 inches (3 holes)
Inside Diameter?

Oval Holes:

A) Outside diameter 1 1/8 x 1 5/8
Inside Diameter ?

B) Outside diameter 2 1/4 x 1 1/8
Inside Diameter





I was able to obtain the sizes of the firewall Grommets from my Toyota Parts man today. Maybe with this info someone can find a reliable source for these grommets.

According to the parts guy there are 3 different sizes

A)
Outside diameter 22mm
Inside diameter 11mm

B)
Outside diameter 22mm
Inside diameter 4.5mm

C)
Outside diameter 26mm
Inside diameter 4mm

This question has come up a couple of times recently with the same person suggesting they lowe's or home depot or every parts store has them. I've tried both without success. Maybe someone has a different suggestion.

LOL, That is exactly what I thought when I read his post....it is quite similar to his 1500+ other posts.

As advised in the other post...Specter is probably the easy place to find them. I have not checked on availability there yet. There is a seller on ebay but the price is around $20 plus shipping...which may actually be a decent price after looking around at similar sized grommets from the online stores.

I spent that time searching in 2005 - I know what I know - they cannot be had in the usual stores

As stated Lowes and Home Depot don't have grommets big enough for the wire harness on the firewall. As well I've never seen an auto parts store carry any in stock.

Also the diagram above is for a 55. I've done all those measurements. Look in the 55 section.

Well crap! That did not even register with me...I wonder if the info for the grommets is correct then. I will go measure the holes in my tub next week and see what is what.

i dont get it. if you guys are going in to the store asking for the gromments for a certin vehicle then they will say no. just go in and ask for a gromment or plug for that size hole you can always cut out the middle. i got mine at napa and even schucks. when they asked what year and so on i just told them what size. maybe lowes and home depot is not the best place but the auto parts place has them. i even got a few at tacoma screw. heres one place to check. these will work in the little holes but they did sell bigger ones.Summit Racing SUM-890091 - Summit Racing® Rubber Grommet Assortment Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com. heres another one.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RFW-GA20/

he says he wants 22mm and thats smaller then 1 inch so i guess these kits would have them duh. also the 1 inch will most likly fit the 26 mm hole

i gave the guy a place to start looking and i know some of them are to small and i know some of them will work besides he can always buy them seperate. you are just an ass that has to say something before you think. whats cheaper well i guess these are because you get some extras that maybe he can use later plus you get what you need. instead of being an ass why dont you give him some ideas????

I noticed you're starting to use periods in your posts. Are commas and capital letters included in next week's lesson?

I bought those gommets from ebay (not CC). They fit perfectly. And I didn't have to spend half a day going to eight different FNAPS trying to find "ones that will fit" just to save .50 ...
