Got them widened in Cali. My wheels fell victim when the owner of Stockton Wheel took his life. Georg(orange45) is the one that told me of the tradgedy, and helped facilitate getting my wheels from them. Stockton did a great service in finding another place to get them widened, and shipped them at no cost to me. The company they sent them to did a great job, and shipped them out within 3 days of receiving them and held to the quote I got from Stockton. Sorry for the long explanation.
I can get you the info on the company if you need it. I will be sending another set to them soon.

Wow! So sad to hear. Don't be sorry for explanation. I had no idea this happened.
It boggles my mind when people make a choice like that.

Look familiar

Missed you at SNT, Glad to see you still have the truck. Looking good. Finished mine just before SNT. Shipped it out hoping to get a pic of our trucks together.
Any more projects? Still have the LV if interested.

Build thread anywhere on the net for the yellow rig above? 100% my dream rig, would love to drool over more pics.

No thread, I do have pics of the build, will try and get them loaded over the weekend. Thanks, I saw mikes at SNT 2009 and drooled all over it. He let me drive it while I was out there. I probably took 50 pics of it. I guess I need to put a v8 in it next to keep up with his.....who knows maybe tons and coils are next in line for mine....

Wow, they look like twins. You even have 1/4 elliptical set up in the back !
No need to keep up by adding a v8, but if you do, you'll need an h55, split case with 3:1 gear set, a/c, power windows, and a hard top.
The hard top build is almost done and will be posting the build on it soon. We were able to build the top complete using 1 fj40 top. It will be so cool to not have the noise from the soft top, and vent windows to boot !

The top sounds really cool. Can't wait to see thread. I really don't know what's next for mine. It drives great, hate to change it.. I shipped it to LA and drove it to SNT. 60mph all the way. Had a blast!

One of my favorite builds...great work.

Mike, with the full length soft top did you get a draft from between the cab and the bed? Or did you have a separating piece coming down at the back of the cab?

When ocdbeetle made the top he was supposed to install a partition behind the seats, and straps to keep the top from buffeting as much, but he decided not to which sucked. I had a temporary cap that went over the top of the bed and cab and it worked well, albeit temporary.
After the hard top is painted and installed, I seriously doubt I will ever put the troopy soft top on again unless I make it into a cover for the bed.

I need to stop !!!!
In the middle of the hard top build, i decided that i needed to do some touch up on the bed as i had a little run in hauling my floor jack. It managed to put a nice little dent on both sides of the bed as it slide from one side to the other.
So looking at the bed primed, and hard top ready for the same i realized that with those 2 pieces alone it was almost half of the rig getting painted. Soooooo..... why not repaint the rest of it and change to a color i have wanted for a long time. We are now in the middle of tear down. It should be close to done painted by end of next week. What color you ask, how about Tatonka brown, T414. Its really an odd green/brown, which is perfect 'cause i like odd, one of a kind stuff.
That is how my rig came to be as nobody had really done an xtra cab, shorty, fab from scatch rig that i had ever seen. Not saying i am the only one that built or thought of this, but thats the beauty is that no two are exactly alike. Hmmm, well, maybe there is one that is really close to mine now !

Rear window mock up. The radius on the side windows of a 40 hard top are different on the top versus bottom, we will make them the same.
