Mocked up some hold down hooks in the bed. There will be a total of four, one in each corner.

Actually they are lifting hooks so it is easier to remove the bed using the loader on my tractor.

Take a FJ40 tub and cut 18" out of it.

Install on FJ60 Frame

Use stock position for the front spring hangers in the rear and add 63" Chevy springs.

Spring Over Axle

Install Power train of your choice.

Use a 1964 Fj45 SWB Bed for a pattern and make one that fits.

That pretty much is the cliff notes version.

haha thanks!!! im planing on cutting my fj45 and stretching it and have been looking at all the different 40s getting turned into a 45, whats your wheel base???

How about straight through, then you can have a piece chopped out and muffler added if needed. I know that turboed 3Bs sound nice (and not too loud) with a straight pipe.

LOL!

A lot of trial and error but it is coming together and the focus of the end product never changed.

Okay, so I just wasted (no, no.....INVESTED) way too much time reading this entire thread this morning. With my mind officially blown, I now have to do some work. Great build....

I am going with 3" "S" curve coming out of the Turbo, 3" Flex Coupler, 3" Flow Master Flow Through muffler. It will change the tone but add no back pressure. The outlet will be downward pointing at the rear bumper.

It will not pass the DMV visual inspection without a muffler.

When it is done at the muffler shop, it is getting aligned and then it will be ready to pick up.

No disturbing the pace in Alaska :D

Well maybe just a little, I like my muffler it just tones it down a little without been restrictive.

Matt

Going to the Muffler Shop to get some 3" exhaust installed.

Should I run a muffler, straight through muffler or nothing but pipe?

I say muffler so when I'm riding with you to Alaska I don't have to wear hearing protection:D

There ya go!

I picked up my rig tonight.

You don't really notice how quiter it is until you stand behind it and listen to the exhaust.

The alignment shop is the best in the Central Valley. My rear axle is .00813" out of square from my front axle if that gives you any indication of how they measure things.

The rig needs a Cut n Turn to get everything dead on as it should be.

Get out the masking tape and rattle cans, then you can change your thread title!

Glad to see it finally coming together. I know, I know your white board's probably still full ;)
