your rig has 30 splines on the diff ends of the axle shafts. your front axles have a 30 spline end where the birf joins the inner axle(or is it 27-nevermind it doesn't really matter here for all intents and purposes, point is they're the same outer end inner axle shaft splining either coarse birf or fine birf) your rig most likely has coarse splined birfield ends where they feed the hub/lockplate. you can put later fj4X/55/6X series birfs on your inner axles. the hubs listed as only for fj4X up to a certain year are most likely coarse spline. a long bodied hub or later factory short bodied hub are all 27 spline outer birfield end splines- unless you go A/M. so, you can get knuckles, arms, spindles, birfs, wheel bearing hubs, rotors, calipers, and lock-out hubs from the same later model rig, maybe some steering rods depending on the arms/steering box, and be good to go. I vote mini truck for everything but maybe the brakes, as stated by others

Ha ha, You should have Georgoolled first, kinda like Google but with more Cruiser knowledge

In defense, I did, but then got lost dissecting the email.

Missed the forest for the trees and wasted time that could've been spent overanalyzing some other mechanical aspect.

Oh, of coarse...

Tomato, tomato....

I missed you and nuclear lemon, too, if that makes y'all feel warm and fuzzy.

maybe some steering rods depending on the arms/steering box.......

Tie rod and drag link are coming from Georg.

Built to accept the 60 TREs to eliminate the reducers and stout enough to handle power steering. (He suggested IPOR's. May call them today, since it's two cents for a penny. Haha, that's hilarious).

Onur,

Quite the pleasure chatting this morning....well morning here, at least.

Not sure at what point I elevated beyond mental patient status enough to warrant a sanity check from the seaside of Turkey, but much appreciated, sir, and perfectly timed.

I'd request pics of local fare sunbathing for the other viewers here, but only for them, since that's just not my style and have no desire to see.

(I'm learning..... :) )

Anyhow....

First, the important stuff, since I hope to minimize doing things twice, which is out of character and unfamiliar.

Have wheels to pick up in OKC only awaiting call from Mike at Cruiser Corps to see if I need to bring a trailer.

Caps can wait, since what's on are suffice for the time being and since push for wheels was to replace tires that are allergic to air pressure.

I'm a KM2 fan for many reasons, but not wanting to regret not considering ATs, so requesting opinions. Like to get ordered tomorrow or Wednesday, in one of the two BFGs 33x10.5x15 flavor, knowing they're notoriously small, so assuming that'll net a 31-31.5" actual height.

Second.

Playing with rear glass this morning, I discovered it was held in place by gobs if silicone caulking. Discovery made when it fell into tailgate , now impossible to raise from outside.

Can hear the motor engaging through a cycle, but no sounds of any linkages moving, and assuming gears may be issue, but question is, if they're trashed, is there any point the motor cycle ending will allow for opening gate?

Like to open it up to perform surgery, since my size isn't conducive for cargo bay operation.

Next. On 2.5" lift.

Is it too early to worry with? My concern is the real estate the tires will occupy, but in honesty, it'll be awhile before I think they'll be rubbing during driving.....side driving is some unknown time in the future.

Lastly, little scraping this morning on the front fenders, which appear completely hopeless, and a new color presented itself, but can't tell if a donor fenders color, primer, or possibly the original color (even though the rest is mustard).

The amount of bondo on the front two fenders should be illegal.

Got to be 3/8" thick in spots.

Mmm - rustic green, I'd run with that :pig:

If the glass has fallen down there shouldn't be anything keeping you from opening the door? I'm assuming since you can't pull it back up there isn't any window in the top channel ... put some elbow grease into it.

My pleasure.

There is a little safety gizmo inside the tailgate. The bottom of the glass is supposed to push on a lever which allows handle to work... if glass is off track may not work as planned.,

Looking like Rustic Green still?

I'm color impaired.

Took all the ass I have, but it's down.

Thanks for the input.

Scored something useful, that's not debatable.

Clutch to the shin once will promote ninja ebay search skills. $20. Can't beat it.

Well, had planned for the day spent disassembling the rear door, but instead get to swap a rear diff on a local kid's FJC.

At least a familiar project, even though more difficult that any other I've done.

Maybe see if the Toyo Open Country comes in a size you like...I've decided they're the best tire I've ever run on my Pig.
