f engine or 2f .

I have a 64 fj40 in the shop with a cracked head , it is getting harder to find a early f head anymore , if money was no object would the sty recommend , a rebuilt 2f , and if so whom has the best quality for a complete engine , i know i need all the sheet metal and manifolds. he wants to stay with the inline so no v8 ,. what are my best options

If PS is an option down the road, I would go '79+ 2F.
IIRC, those run flat top pistons that are still available.

what year i need a 64 ish . to keep it original. with the oil line through the head , and is it rebuildable , or running, thank you

it was running when i pulled it out to do my v8 swap. i dont know what year it is ( my original motor was a 2f and this was swapped in its place by a previous owner). is there some way that i can send you a picture of something ( valve train perhaps) that would tell you it will work for you?

under the valve cover ,cast on the head is the head part number ,and, alongside the distributor is the engine number , that would tell what year it is , ... i pulled the had off this one on friday and it has been sitting with watter in cylinder 5 for a long time the block is etched , no pic needed just see what the numbers are when you have time . thanks
