Those look like the Yokohama Y742S 700R15 (Yokohama Y742S)

These are the tires I want for my '64...how do you like them Sean?

I don't have any feedback for you Dean, it's only been around the ranch property, probably less than 20mph.

I really wanted a 700 tire in a radial, with the 15" stock rims these came highly recommended and the looks were perfect. probably work well for your location too, they can be studded if need be;)

thanks for the info. guys.... those tires look very similar to the old dunlop snow cruisers from the 70's that came stock on cruisers

One set for my 63 please.

Thank you. I was just looking at this today, and am glad I checked in to the 25 hollow.

Solid work.

Bump

Moving this up to the front page again.

Sean wondering if you want these to go towards a emblem or just want the cash. either way works for me. Let me know.

I'll take at least one set.
I'm sure this has been covered, but what year was the switch over to single lenses??

probably towards the emblem

thanks John

Curious Sean did you ever get hold of Rob about his lenses. I couldn't believe we had missed these but looking thru the thread again I see I haven't just forgot about them. Looking at post #42 is seems OZ got amber front and back. But I believe these were added on to Rob's 65 at some point earlier. MitchFJ's 63 FJ40 didn't have them:hhmm:

Post #42 here. https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj25-owners-group/316169-dobsters-1965-fj40-soft-top-resto-3.html

yes, I sent him a PM.

we are working on using his for a better casting. I've already committed to the gentleman in Australia with the other lense which was a very good one also. I'd like to see some detailed pictures of Dobster's to see whether or not they would be worth using for a more expensive "vacuum injection" proccess. the lenses would probably end up costing 4x the amount but may be worth it to some:D

it would be cool to have both the original amber and the original red lenses for duplication (different part numbers).

if it ends up panning out, anyone who purchases the less expensive lenses (the ones I'm currently having reproduced) and wants the more expensive lenses also, will get a price cut with the later.

I'm presently waiting for the first 8 sets. the lense caster decided to start with a smaller number, not sure why, but that's what's happening.

A friend of mine just sent me a link to this thread, great work!

I've been looking for a method to mount my license plate since adding OEM fog lamps. Really interested in this. Will you be selling both the mount and the plate bracket, or just the underside mount? I need both.

haven't really looked into selling anything. the underside mount is just something I whipped up. once I shorten it, I'll post up some more pictures and if there is enough interest I can get as many as we need via CNC

plate brackets are still availabe

this is great work with the lense reproduction i admire your dedication.

i also am of the opinion that dobsters double sided directionals were added later and it was too insignificant for the PO to recall. i did suggest to him perhaps the original assembly was damaged in transport and the dealer had this stock sitting about and put it to use.

none of the several 63 and 64 fj45s i have seen have the double sided assembly.

but my 62 fj45 skeleton has the double sides. unlike dobsters both lenses are held in with 3 screws. they are faded to nothing but i would guess the back lense to be red not amber. koito L 1432 in front as per usual and L 1433 on the rear. that the part number for a red lense? still available from somewhere in red and amber?

Can you post some pictures? Never seen a dual lense turn signal the the lenses were held in with screws:confused: Do the fenders have the extra brace on the bottom to support the turn signals? My guess these were something the were added later. The parts number doesn't match those for the earlier screw in type. The front amber turn signals with three screws are still available new. I would have to check but my guess is they will have something like SAE 67 on the front. On the red lense I never seen one so not sure how you would find one.

i sure they original; koito lenses etc. and the little tab underneath same as every later assembly. the lenses are still legible just cracked and faded. yea i try post some pics soon. girlfriend visiting this weekend so she may be able nut posting pics out for me or if her paypal operational may be able buy a star or somesuch to make things easier. im gonna be a mud addict so may as well get it over and done with now haha.

Most likely an original unit, but probably taken off an older cruiser and then added to this one as a replacement...unless we can find more info showing that this was a requirement for you guys, this would be my best guess.

Sign me up for two sets of lenses please!

Mike

so, climbing another step on the technological ladder, attached should be a pic of my dual turn signals. both held in with three screws. the rear lense reads "L 1433 KOITO MADE IN JAPAN". i would guess it was once red but its hard to tell. the front lense reads L1432 etc as in common with later years. this light assembly on a 1962 fj45.

WOW, I'm guessing that these still came after the "original" dual turn signal lens being that the later turn signals involved a 3 screw on lens.

the early dual signal lenses had a short enough production date, I can't imagine how short these were, I've never seen them in any parts book. Johnny?

I thought my 3 years of trying to reproduce the lenses I was looking for was long, good luck with those:beer:
