:hhmm: Hmmm...did the 25 lights on your 40 look like they were put on by a PO?

The reason I'm asking is because seeing as how my '64 is slightly older than yours, if these were stock on yours, then they would have been stock on mine. Is the P/N for these 25 lights at Toyota still 81550-60020? What about the braket?

Wes, if you don't mind me asking...what else is 25 on your '64 40?
 
No.. they definatly had the old style bib lamp for a taillight. The taillamps rusted out and the po put on plastic farm jobbies under the conferr bumper. I did take one off and look at the brackets because they are still in good shape not being in the same place as the oem lamps.

What else is 25? I dunno, the usual early stuff. I think mine was built in dec 63, or maybe a month or so earlier.
 
Dean, if yours is slightly older than Wes's then you are most likely looking for these which are stock for the 1962 FJ40......... the FJ25 uses the same style "bib" light but the bracket isn't the same and it mounts to the body and not the frame from what I can tell; reference FJnotCJ's build thread he has some pics of the FJ25 correct ones on the last page

Knowing that Wes had them on his '64 was all I needed to know to put them on mine :bounce:

Is that your taillight? Looks pretty clean for a '62 !!! Have any pictures showing the backside?
 
It is my tail light but it is not the original to the cruiser I bought new replacements as mine were long removed by the PO and replaced with much larger non stock ones that were fugly :doh:

picked up the stock brackets from rockcod here on the board, he luckly had alot of the original early 40 stuff I was missing...... you can see the brackets in the pic below.

back on track here, I came across the best lens I've seen since initiating this project back in '07, and it is currently in re-production !

I should have some samples in both red and amber soon.

please let me know who is interested
 
if i had the coin and a set of double blinkers...i have neither

love to see this come together however...one day I could have both :)

I was interested back in 07. Now in 2011 I'm still interested. What's that old saying "Stay the course"

I've got two sets of the housings and to me these were the coolest turn signals every put on a FJ40.

I can't speak definitively, but I was quoted under $20 a lens. a single set will require 4 lenses.

everyone will be paying what I pay, nothing more. I REALLY hope this works out, should have the sample here by the end of this week/early next week.

I'm sure some of you could imagine................................., but I have inquired with more businesses/people than I care to remember regarding these.
