1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 Full Size 4X4 2F

"RARE full size 1984 North-American spec Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 for sale. VERY SOLID. Western truck, just shipped in. Starts right up. Runs good. Needs a good detailing and a paint job to be perfect. Clear title in hand. These FJ60 cruisers are in HIGH DEMAND these days and regularly sell for over $40,000 when finished. Very easy light project or drive as-is while it appreciates in value."

Wow, gotta love CL ads. Asking price on this one is $17,500 and thats probably about $14,000 too high. The wheels alone should be an indication of the problems with this vehicle.

They dropped a thousand off, priced to sell! :flipoff2:

Terrible photos. Poor bastard is clueless.

So is it like a $12,000 truck or is this fresh paint hiding a cancerous hulk?

LOL - yep!! that thing is parter-outer...

showed it to the wife and she asked me what I would pay for it, I said $2500 maybe up to $3000 depending on what I saw in person

Yikes. Definitely belongs in this thread.

As said in other threads........That’ll buff out!!

This one looks like a one post and done:

So maybe you all can give some input since I am considering selling my Vortec powered 60... I know I will get nowhere close to what I invested but I appreciate any ideas on how much I should try to ask for it

This one The White Ghost gets a second chance

Current status of truck: it had too many issues with the conversion to where the front retainer on the h55 kept breaking so I sold the h55 and bought a newer NV4500 and Advance adapter for TC, I also replaced the FIS wiring harness with a Painless since the old one burned after a little fire due to leaking fuel. New battery, truck starts but engine mounts will need to be realigned and drive shafts shortened/lengthened, headliner will need replaced, it has a new exhaust, oem steelies, BFG AT tires were new and only put about 1000 miles, rebuilt TC with Georg supplied parts and many mores things to mention.

So did you buy the one in that thread? Projects are tricky....especially ones that have deviated far from stock and are not running or have complicated issues. If the body is clean and the chassis and suspension are clean then you have a good platform value. But the aftermarket driveline, wiring, and problems will cut into the sale ability. So basically very hard to guess without a lot more details.

So I’d you buy the one in that thread?

If you are asking if I bought this truck after the conversion, no. it has been mine all along

$18k, 450,000 miles, comes with rust and other problems. New submission

I love the rust.
I saw that one on CL. Looks like a fresh paint job with minimal prep or just to hide whatevers underneath. Also the paint peeling off the tailgate to reveal the blue paint underneath....maybe a swapped tailgate but signs of a really poor paint job,

It’s not exactly paint, it’s that ‘truck bed coating’ stuff to be more accurate. That rig is a pretty crappy example. I see it around town all the time. The suspension is set up incorrectly in the rear, so it rides like poo. Plus I always see the wife and kids in it, I’m sure they hate the ride quality so no wonder they want to sell it. Owner is not really a Cruiser guy and likely bought it for cool points. I owned 2 other similar beige 60s in the same town, it was always annoying when people would say “oh I left a note on your rig” or “I saw you driving down so and so road” and I’d have to explain that it wasn’t mine, just a lookalike lol. It has been listed for nearly 6 months with no takers, what does that tell you?

If anyone wants to offer on it, I can be your eyes/ears...but I don’t think I’d pay 5 figures for it...
