So very pretty.... Not bad for a dirty garage paint job. Porsche Meteor Gray Metallic.

So nice!

You might have made the bed too nice to use!
Take some chains and whip the bed. That will take the edge off. There is a market for “stressed” goods.

You’re not wrong…. But I have a feeling during this build phase the bed will get scuffed up enough. I know it was the wrong timing to go ahead and paint it but since it was already bare metal I wanted to prime it and painting is the next step and easy to do quickly afterwards….

Got the cab squared up and bolted down, so started working on the front fender mounts. Going to make it much like bolting to a stock 40 somewhat adjustable with elongated holes. Started with the donut shaped mounts on top of the spring towers, Then bridge to go over top, and will have a vertical piece that will bolt to the fender. At the same time cut and bent the fender to be 90° to this mount.

Got the front end all folded down and adjusted. The coil spring mounts worked great. Also added a temporary Star Wars land speeder steering apparatus.

Now a question for the masses. I need to make a 2" fuel filler tube to go from the stock fuel filler location through the cab, downward and exit rearward toward the truck bed. I need several 90 degree and 45° turns. I was thinking about using copper, but read that it’s not good on fuel injectors. The issue is I need tight turns, so the question is what type of material/ where can I find tight turn turns. I thought about sch 40 pipe, but that seems way too heavy for this purpose. Does exhaust have tight turns?

In a very similar boat as you, need tight radius turns on my fuel filler. My current thinking is to use mild steel tubing, weld it all myself and then have it galved when it's all done and leak tested.

That's my current plan but if anyone has a better one then I'm all ears too!

Not much input yet, so going to dive in and use PVC 2" pipe to layout a plan, then use stainless. Found this source for tight turns....

I think you are already on the right track. I used 1.5 SS header tubing to extend/relocate the filer tube on my camper project. If you use a smaller diameter you should be able to get some tighter bends.

Look at the big brain on that guy....

Finally getting back to it... Next up was to work on the top. First up was to try and get it taken apart and not break every bolt. As @Tank5 can agree with, this is a very rusty top. I spent a week soaking the bolts with Kroil and using the shake and spin, got about half of the bolts out without breaking.

The lower inch of the entire rear piece is gone..... so started using the bead roller to make up some new repair sections.

Here’s what I came up with…. I added some washers to my bead roller to make the offset match the original 45 rear. Work surprisingly well. Then I bent the lower section to mimic the bottom. I also did some curved sections to do the ends.. it will end up having a few repair sections, as I am not good enough to make one repair section....
