It has been done before on other OBD1 cars and trucks, but uncharted waters on the OBD1 for LC's.
I would assume it should react the same way but only way to know is to try.

I'm new to this (and honestly, it's probably more fantasy then reality) but how would you monitor for proper AFR in an OBD1 vehicle? Reading sparkplugs?

Same as an obd2 car, with a wideband gauge.

Again, forgive my one :banana:newbishness, but how do you do this? Thought you needed an OBD2 port for scangauges & etc.

Stick a wideband sensor in the exhaust, hook it up to the gauge and then read the AFR it tells you.

You can't get AFR via OBD2 port anyways.

I see - thanks for the education

I can however cost would increase dramatically if I do them one at a time. If I knew I had a few sold then I can make them in sets and price would dramatically go down.

Also just came back from a camping trip and will post up how it drove.

Any issues?

Nothing major, just popped of the charged intake pipe that goes in between the sensor and throttle body. Just need to change to t-clamps for a stronger hold. First time this has happened but I was driving up the grapevine holding boost around 6-8psi the whole way up with A/C, fully packed camping gear and 104 temps outside. Had to just pull over and retighten the clamp and it held fine. Still actually on it. Been very busy at work lately so when I get a change I will post up some pics and some numbers I recorded using the OBD torque app.

T bolt clamps are just a band aid. Worm gear clamps work fine.

All piping should have a bead at each coupler, either rolled, jb weld, or a welded bead.

The pipes will never blow off if they are beaded.

Yup. I have flared out all ends of piping on my supra and haven't popped up to 27psi. But didn't think I would be popping off on my cruiser. Oh well, when I get a chance I will get to it.

Where's the status report?

Has anyone purchased this kit that can report back?

I'm having them install the kit, my truck is way to big to fit on a dyno otherwise I would

JS93Cruiser...If I'm looking correctly you bought a 2K turbo kit. Have you got it installed? Performance gains?

I haven't bought it yet

Still driving fine. Boosting happily to drop off kids at school and get to work. Currently have a couple other rigs that I am working on. My parking lot looks like a used Cruiser lot. Got a total of 4 now. I have 2 '94s and my '96 turbo and a '97 40th. 2 of them are w/lockers and lift with armor. Soon going to post them up for sale. Got my hands full and my wife is on the verge of madness with my addiction.

Hopefully, you're making money with your addiction.....

Yes and no. Making profit, sure, but the time and effort while searching for the Right parts in good condition, draining.... But hey, that's what an addiction is all about!

It could get a lot more profitable with a dyno run. :D

Profit is a word that softens an agitated wife. Just sayin

Not selling the turbo 80. Just the other 3 I currently have.
Will be posting them soon in the classified. Just not sure what to price them for.

Couple weeks ago I purchased a '97 with a TRD supercharger. I have to say off the line this thing is quick, however after about 40mph it loses its umph. Torque really falls and starts feeling sluggish. When I say sluggish, I am comparing it to my Cruiser with the remote Turbo. I am planning on setting up a good old fashion drag race. Lol. Just want to see how my setup compares to a supercharged motor. From driving both I think the S/C cruiser will jump ahead right away, however once the turbocharged 80 gets over 5psi, I think it will just pass it and continue to pull away. We shall see. Need to find another driver now. My wife said no.
