I have emailed Ben directly in the past. The front bumper is the only thing available to buy from him (just shoot an email). He moved on from the 470 platform due to lack of interest. From what I gather on products that were offered for the GX then discontinued (SSO bumper, etc), there are many people that say they want them but don't actually buy, thus not viable to continue R&D and production.

He didn't respond to my messages (hence my persistence here) but that's pretty disappointing to hear. I guess I need to look at a SSO rack...would have appreciated if he had posted himself, much earlier. It's one thing to leave money on the table but if your plans change, kinda rude to not update this thread.

I don't blame Ben. The life of a small fab shop with high demand means a lot of hands in the shop and a low probability of running the front end. I have seen a LOT of shops be really good on the front end then not get anything made or compromise on the fab work. Having seen the Dissent products in person I would rather encourage patience and get good stuff than encourage communication and compromise on quality. I am sure there is a plan to scale the business and accommodate both...but that is a tricky balance.

Indeed...and I'm not totally unsympathetic to his situation. I've been there myself so I understand how quickly one can be overwhelmed. Just bummed he's not going to produce the rails. (not sure how much of an additional headache they are....I run a laser myself and if it's anything like what he's using, setting up the files is 90% of the work.)

Will hide my peeling paint on the roof and fit half my hockey team's gear up there.

I actually kinda like it. though I'd probably make a slotted section for light in my sunroof... but still looks solid.

assuming it's aluminum what's the weight?

also if your roof is pealing, I'd do something to stop it before just covering it up, or you'll just end up hiding rust

Prado, probably doesn't have a sunroof. 🤘

Sounds like I need to join facespace and bug all of thr GXOR fellas. I was hoping there were 10 of us here...

Yep, pop on GXOR and let them know what you are trying to do.

No sunroof but I swapped in a GX overhead console that came with the sunroof controls hahaha Phantom sunroof!

To be clear (heh) it's the clearcoat that is bubbling and flaking off the roof. base coat is still there. Either way, would be worth a rattlecan attack beforehand. I need to get my GX front painted so we'll see what they'd want to respray the roof. The paint on this thing has not held up well...

Aluminium - I found this here: 4x4 Specialist

I think it's the same as what is on this beast...

Who makes the roof rack?

I believe someone on here was wondering about the trim Dissent uses for the cut bumper. I asked Ben he said "vertical bulb seal" on Amazon. I ordered these and they look to be the exact same one: Amazon product ASIN B0130JBEZ2

Finally getting around to installing this. Am I doing it right? Assuming the smaller piece here is a recovery point but feels backwards.

It is backwards. Lol I just uninstalled and reinstalled mine. It’s feels awkward but you’ll see it once you get it.
You need to unscrew that little hose there’s just one screw holding it there

In fact I was about to post about the almost photo-less exchange. It was fitting, @DRANGED helped install the bumper in Loveland, CO and he helped uninstall it in Moab, UT. Thanks again for the help!
After three years and 30k miles, and buying a sequoia also, I decided to sell my ‘04 GX and focus on the ‘07. So i took my bumpers and tires off the ‘04 and put the front on for now and am working on the rear. Time was a huge factor and I was traveling, now stationary.
here’s the gx trying to look like a Subaru because I wasn’t going to cut another bumper. I’m going to color match in time. Funny to note, the metal actual bumper from

the ‘07 would not fit/line up with the ‘04 which I found strange but buyer is putting bumpers on anyway.
