I'm working on finding a radiator overflow bottle. When researching I see two types people claim are for 78....... But that doesn't matter to me more so what will bolt to the replacement oem fender I have.

I have a new old stock fender on and want to get a setup that will bolt to that without drilling. I'm thinking (guessing) the fender I picked up last summer is for a later model 79-83 and the bolt holes will be positioned different. I'm thinking (guessing) the fender was changed like many other things in 79 so a earlier bracket might not work without drilling? I don't have he 78 setup to try fitment so I figured I will ask on here.

Works fine for product placement!

There are numerous changes throughout the years , from backspacing for turn signals, mounts for horns or coils, charcoal canisters etc.

IOW, just plan on drilling.

I have a good used 75-77 bottle and bracket for $100 shipped if you want to go that route.

This was my 77 coolant bottle prior to restoring. It appears your fender has these holes. I can take some better pictures tonight if that helps. The coolant bottle is available from @Racer65 as an aftermarket replacement. My 77 had the wiper washer on the driver fender near the firewall. I think later models had a wiper/coolant bottles mounted together near the radiator. HTH

@65swb45 I will take the good used 75-77 bottle and bracket if it's still available. I will call you later today.

Sounds good. I'm in and out all day; hope you can leave a VM.

@65swb45 I did leave a VM. With a list. Fed tax refund came!

@73FJ40 I just came back in the shop from working on the new office. My answering machine does not register any calls. What number did you use?

Operator error on my part. Transposed two the 2 and the 3 in your phone no.

Called again, heard your voice, left the list in two messages.

Thanks,

Kevin.

No input from the OP?

Kevin ( @73FJ40 )

I have an NOS PCV hose; it is black. My used red hose has a nick in the curved part.

I will call you later.

The hose you pictured appears to be no. 12263 from the diagram below, connects the F engine valve cover to the air cleaner horn. I would like that as well.

The other hose, shown below, 12262, is one I need as well (and I thought it was red in color, but I may be wrong.) If you have the clamp, 12262C, that would be great to have as well.

I love a challenge!

I pulled out four bin boxes of clamps from three different parts of the shop ( I think there are at least two more) for this pic. Like I said, the five 'B' shaped ones in the middle were stock for '73 with air pump. The ones to the left are candidates, but are heater hose size. And an 8mm bolt will not pass thru them. Finally found 8 of the PCV hose sized ones.

Ive been traveling for the holiday hope to really get back into my cruiser work later this week.

Ill be looking for a amby door header mark if you have some of those in good shape and if a deal im in falls through a later coolant bottle and bracket. I plan on getting on the phone with you one day very soon and picking up some of those mythical rust free California parts you guys have out there.
Life gets in the way of important things like cruisers but my wife is happy and my dogs are tired from playing so its a good day.

Hope you are getting towards the end of your property remodel and enjoying it. Sometimes that type of work can be very rewarding and sometimes a nightmare... similar to landcruisers

Sounds good. Answering machine is on 24/7. Odds are against catching me in real-time these days, but I'm usually not more than a day behind calling people back. D'oh
