Contacted Dave at 4Plus Products (ih8mud handle, @lcwizard) and asked if he'd be willing to build a custom grille (i had previously seen one of his grilles on a thread). Dave agreed and when it arrived in the nondescript packaging, I had no idea what to expect (I asked him to surprise me).

Box open, mouth on the floor, raising grille in air toward Mel, "Look at this grille. . .I mean, holy f'n shat, have you ever seen anything like this...". Needless to say, Mel's not really a parts type of gal but she did smile and say it was 'really pretty', lol.

Anyhoo - it's bare metal at the moment. Debating on color for powder coating - might even do a clear PC b/c I simply love the look of the bare metal. We'll see, but for now, here's a couple of pics:

Holy crap... That is some sweet production right there!!
How is it mounted?
I'd love to have one...and weld tabs on the back to mount my rigid bar hidden.

That does look great!

Also a great idea with the light bar. I want one, but hate to have my cruiser looking like a wannabe brodozer, lol.

If chrome plating is still legal where you live, I'd get some bling going.

Answers to mounting..
I use a flanged bolt and nut to create 4 studs in the factory position.
the legs are offset just enough that when you slip on the grill it positions itself at about the stock location.
I realize all the factory sheet metal tabs aren't exactly always perfect. I had to use two washers under the top mounts on mine to
flush up the top. My truck had been in a slight fender bender before I got it. My sister's 60 was OK without shimmimg
No more broken plastic clips. It frees up about two or more inches behind the grill. I have to credit Jason for getting me off my ass
and finishing this project I started in about 2006. The first one was with expanded metal and I used a bolt on emblem from a 40
because they were metal

nice.... I too have been looking for some additional room between the condenser and the grill. At one point I was resolved to just leaving the oem grill off. While I don't' have any fab skills I was wondering if anyone had a grill of some sort out of small round bar stock, as I was just looking for something to protect the condenser and radiator with no real concern about aesthetics... since my truck is no beauty queen.

Like the look and functionality of this.....great product.

If you hadn't noticed ...neither is mine....a beauty queen. ..Just a functional pig in a pigpen

Ordered one 5/1. Powder coated black. Total cost $264.00. Yours looks like chrome. Love mine! I had ordered the plastic clips for the OEM grille from CDAN just have to place them in my collection and still have grille. Now all we need is the headlight bezels in metal.

It's bare metal - lighting makes it look chrome; haven't decided what color to PC b/c I'm still debating between two colors for repaint. Yes indeed - metal headlight bezels are needed. . .I asked Dave about this yesterday - keep your fingers crossed!

I had not paid attention...:) I've got a pusher electronic fan I would like to do a better job of mounting in front of the conndenser...to do so I've got to have a little bit more room.. We'll see later on when I get caught up on some other things what path I take..or if the electric fan makes a decision for me.

I like the grill it seems to fit well with the character of the truck...I think black in color would be the way to go.

Wow wow wow! That is super bad ass. Nicely done lcwizard! I'm sadly assuming this wouldn't work on my 62..
