Also on a side note, some please remember to bring a CHAIN SAW........... my folks said in Maggie Valley this past weekend they had 50-60 mile an hours winds and it is supposed to be very rainy and windy the next couple of days up there, so more than likely at some point we will need to do some trail clearing :D

got the chain saw covered. Every time i go up there i need it.

Yea, i was kinda kidding about moving the time back, but i just can't get up at 5:00am and hit the road. It's tough on an old guy like me. But i know where you will be, so i will either just wander up to the camp site or mess around and meet the later group.

EDIT: by the way, it looks like it's going to be really muddy. So bring rain gear and stuff to deal with lots of mud.

We'll be on the trail blocked by a fallen tree waiting for the guy with the chainsaw

Just bring a sharp hatchet for JP, sit back and enjoy the free (shoeless) entertainment. :grinpimp:

don't forget you need to pack whatever water you plan on using also.

I do imagine it will be quite muddy after this rain today and another chance of showers thrusday so be prepared :D

The weather for the weekend is looking fantastic; check out this website for details, it is fairly accurate for the area we will be in

I will pack a chain saw if the PM group doesn't have one, otherwise I want the room and lack of fumes :).

I have all the gear to recover/haul people through the muddy mess if we get into it, so no worries there.

Everyone remember to bring waterproof hiking boots and lots of water to clean things up! :)

I am bringing a 40 wipe wet wipes for my standard woods wipedown shower ;)

I'll also have hot showers and CO2 for sat morning. Does anyone have a satelite dish they are not using? We could rig up a tv and watch the game up on the bald All we need is an inverter for the tv and receiver. That woulbe a blast. Game day up on the blue ridge sitting by a fire and hoping clemson looses. Yeah I'm stoked.

OK, am I going to be the only female this weekend????

Sweet...3 days in the wood with 20 men!

Dibs on the first shower!

Nope it will be you and Mrs. Marsh so a nice 10 to 1 ratio...........

don't forget to be sure you have a recovery point on the front and one on the back. Just in case. . . .

i guess the more the merrier on chain saws.

Also, JP, move me to the noon group :O

Got with JP last night and went over the map of where the 4pm crowd will be going. Plotted the waypoints out on the GPS and also have a map. So it looks like we are good to go.

Things I will be bringing.

Lantern
chainsaw
big ass tarp
Hot shower stuff
Couple of starter logs for the fire.
World Radio (for the game
Ipod and speakers for music
First aid kit

There is not going to be much wood up on the bald Sat night so we might want to bring in a few logs each to keep the fire going. But if we have a couple chainsaws we can aways cut up some fallen dead wood comming up to the campsite.

Bring extra gas. AT least 5 gallons.

It will be chilly at night so have some warm clothes. Weather looks good for both nights. Everyone is on their own this time on food. I'm relaxing this time. Trail will be a little muddy but the places where there is mud are short. I'll have my recovery gear with me. Bring what you have.

Looks like I'll be arriving solo. Recent circumstances are keeping my friend Brian at work all weekend. Anyone wanna ride shotgun?

Rick,
What time are you leaving... won't ride shotgun, but convoy style maybe? I was going to leave Alpharetta at 7:00. We could meet at the rest stop just before the 985 split at 7:15 or so?

I would be careful about arranging meetings are rest stops...might get the wrong idea :)

See you all on Friday night!
