Ok. Let's have it. What do you got to do?

@Pigeaten post of Rusty reminded me when I went down the research rabbit hole on this subject a year or so ago. I was going to buy a bumper from one of our very reputable dealers here on MUD, but I got some conflicting or confusing info. Does a bumper made for the FJ40 fit the Pig? I was told with the proper bumper extensions. So now I am guessing the extensions are needed to space the 8274 from the radiator/bezel(not sure what that lower sheet metal piece between the fenders is called)? What is this extension?

Show some pics of your 8274 bumper. I need inspiration...might make my own.

None of this is mine, cause I’m S-L-O-W on my pig, but here are

Nice! Thanks for the pictures!!! I look at my stock setup and these pictures have a different "Extension" piece on the front. Those are the extenze:rolleyes:

Yeah those are on my to do list, flat bar & time will get a guy there…

I made mine, used 4” square tube and 2”x3” rectangular tube. A little fun with the plasma cutter and stick welder. The stock bumper will still fit over cross member.

My extensions go inside the frame rails. The stock extensions go over the frame.

@samc2447 That bumper looks like its welded on, not removable? Also what are those shackles? I might need some of those.

Yeah @Pigeaten that's weak sauce for sure, but it don't matter cause the wiring is toast too! That winch is due for some attention.

Too hot this afternoon to work on garden, so decided to pull winch , part #8631, serial #113978, on bottom LF8

Don't be the guy who slaggs on 15 pounds. of welding rod to keep the winch in place. Not that long ago, I had to cut a winch off of a willys and it took me something like an entire 8 hour day with a die grinder and 12 pound hammer to break out all of the welds and free the winch. Build brackets for the bumper extensions that are strong but which use bolts!
I'm generally a frugal, low tech guy, but go ahead and spend some money, buy some bolts. You'll thank me later.
