No, but putting them in shelf/cubby up top is a great idea. Do you know about the door speaker/cubby that @c2dfj45 imported/has? They are a nice solution, but your idea may produce better sound.

I have a different bed platform than what came in the group buy. My platform has a shelf aft of the access hatch, and I’m planning on adding some down facing speakers there for some sounds in the rear.
Thanks, I'll wait to hear to see what he did.
Send some pictures when you get finished with yours. That sounds like a great idea. I might go the sound bar route with lights and connect it to the shelf up front. Need to measure, but it might be too much in the way.

Attached is a photo of one of his speaker pod installs, and a link to what @c2dfj45 in his troopy, and then another link with more in depth installation notes. He puts them in all his 70 series, and may have the pods in stock so if interested shoot him a PM.

I did the door pods on my troopy as well.

The shelf in my truck will have a GMRS and HAM radios

I like that idea for the solar. L brackets from the rails to the frame of the panels. We have a Roam box I'd like to mount towards the rear. Thinking I need a platform or a couple cross bars to distribute the load a bit more and to offer more connection points. So far the All-Cab flat bars look like a decent option, still researching platforms.
I have the Alu-Cab roof conversion and cross bars. On longer trips I mount a Packasport fiberglass rooftop carrier. Its doesn't take much weight up top to effect how your gas struts support the load. Depending on the weight and location on your roof, you might have to look in to higher pressure struts to keep the roof from collapsing.
I'm in the middle of that process now for my roof conversion, just to avoid any issues down the road, especially as the struts get weaker over time.

I like that approach. From the research I've done I think the Alu-cab bars are the best option and should fit not problem on the Alu-innovations top. I'm curious about the weight, it is genuinely hard to shut our top now, and Karri can't do it on her own. I'm hoping *some* weight up there will make it easier and a solo job for both of us.

How hard is it to open now? Mine seems a bit harder to open than I expected. I've got a bum shoulder and it's about all I can do to get it to lift up and open. More weight might make it close easier, but opening would be a chore.

My wife cannot close the Alu-Cab on her own either and unfortunately with some of the extra weigh we have put in the roof top box, she cannot open it on her own. Plus, when closing with a bit extra weight, the roof comes down fast, so you need too tuck the canvas and get your limbs out of the way.

I think the best option would be to have two sets struts and switch them out depending on the intended use. If you have a local strut shop in the PDX area, you might be able to have them fine tune a set of struts by adding the right amount of pressure to get to dial for you. I don't think I have that luxury in C. Ore😩

I have worked with a shop in Australia to fine tune the rear door gas struts for what I carry in the rear swing outs and that made all the difference in having enough pressure to hold the door open on a slant and not have it over pressured on opening and want to snap the ball off the mount.

Regarding the All-Cab load bars, I did go with the 'low profile' mounting feet and although they look like just an 'L' bracket, they do hold the load bar just slightly off the mounting rails on the roof, so they don't make contact. I wanted the lowest profile, as I park the Troopy inside the garage. As it turns out, with the final height, I still could've got the Troopy in the garage with the standard mounting feet. The low profile work for me just fine.

Will you post pics of the low profile load bar / rack. I’m looking to start putting my solar and maxx trax and storage on top. I’m concerned about overall height as well.

Here are some pics of where we needed up. Put on four of the alucab low profile bars. I haven’t measured yet, but the bars sit on the tracks and add probably about an inch.

Box is still empty, probably around 20 lbs on top total. I can tell a difference on the opening and closing but not by much at the moment. Still not a one person job for the wife.

Thank you. Those are exactly what I need

Anyone from this old group buy NOT going to install their pop top? I know, wishful thinking. 😁
I think @theglobb wasn't sure if he was going to install his or not. I can't remember if he put his on yet.

North Carolina and Seattle. Why are you guys so far from me!
I'd guess freight on these is probably $500+ because of the bulk and requiring 2+ pallet positions; it's essentially the footprint of a prius.
