Anyone not going to use the channel used to mount the MaxTraxx table to the side of the truck?

I think I want to put channel on both sides of mine and can't seem to find the same channel. The Tacoma bedrail channel uses the same dimension nuts, but it looks more like uni-strut. I'd like to get the same channel. I've completely given up on expecting Alu-Innovations to respond to inquiries.

Gentlemen, are any of you in the Seattle area (Bellevue specifically)? I'm trying to get my troopy interior 3d scanned, and the guy I'm looking to build it in Fusion360 is asking to see if he can get his hands on a physical troopy.

I’m close, about 20 minutes away from Bellevue. But my troopy isn’t running and I’m pulling the engine out this weekend. He’d be welcome to come to my place and scan it though.

Can you DM me a better location? I'll see what he says and have him potentially get in touch with you!

Yes. I’ll text you.

Amirandazada have a 3d scan of the interior of a Troopy on their site and it's a free download. I wasn't sure how to scale it and use it in Solidworks though as it's an .stl file, but maybe your guy can figure it out in Fusion.

He's seen the file and the quality just isn't there.

I need a ruling from the judges. (Those who have already installed their tops). Should I measure 80mm or 100mm from the windshield gasket? I’m reading conflicting instructions from “installation guide”. I have three versions. Thank you and Happy Holidays

I did 100mm and am glad I did.

Biggest reason is it gave me additional real estate to put down the sikaflex.

More surface area across the top of the windshield for glue.

When you test fit you'll more than likely have to use a dead blow mallet to bend down the front edge of the roof conversion to make it fit a little more flush with the roofline.

I remember seeing that when I was there. Thank you for all your help. The top is virtually untouched. A tiny scratch on the front left. And a small (2”) minor curve along the left side. Both already addressed. I getting excited and nervous about making the cut. It’s a one way street so I’m taking my time.

I believe this is a mandatory unwritten voluntary rule. Posting the “Troopy Cabriolet” photo.

As a bonus I got tipped out for my hard work. This should get me at least half way to retirement.

First fitment looks pretty good. Looks like I will need to “massage” the front corners with a dead blow hammer. Otherwise it fits nice. I will tackle the brackets in the morning. I’ve heard they are difficult at best as far as fitment.

Looks good! My brackets were a serious PIA!! And the corners aren't too bad to massage into place, especially once you know that doing that is a thing. The only thing I wish I had done differently with my installation was to use more sealant. I used plenty, and in fact thought it was too much, but I wish there was more (total) "squeeze" out on the inside. Also, if you have some one available, and 2 caulk guns it makes it go quicker. I found that would have been helpful after the fact- my sealant was setting up really fast and was skinning over before finishing applying all of it. But I'm in a very humid/damp climate so that may not be an issue for you out there in the west.

Thank you for the tips and insight. I have an electric caulk gun which should help. I bought the slow cure sikaflex in anticipation of the time needed to cover all areas before final fit. I will use extra sealant because of your thoughts.

Questions of the day?
1) big bolt goes to the Kronos and little bolts go to Troopy? (Big bolts are bigger than holes will need to drill out)

2) these brackets don’t come near to fitting at any position. Am I on my own to fab new ones or has anyone frankenfit these with some modifications?

Thank you for your comments and photos if you have any.
