man those 12ht’s sound nasty!
Muffler or straight pipe?

i think I only havefirst start video, and like 2nd drive lol
Mine has a tiny Magnaflow muffler. It is pretty quiet, but not too quiet. I hope my turbo sings like Jimmy's does in the video!

Brings back some good memories Pat. Congrats on the progress look forward to seeing this truck in

I need to get a few more things done to run that fast. A hood latch would be nice, and more lug nuts!

Maybe a windshield

You definitely want all the lug nuts. Don’t make the same “test drive” mistake I made :)

I started on the headliner a couple of days ago. It is taking a while but really only have short chances to work on it. Should be done this weekend. I hope I can get the wrinkles out. I will use a handheld steamer on them when the install is done.

I dread doing this on my truck one day, just seems super painstaking. Ideally I'd like to find one of those vinyl headliners some of the earlier or was it the later fj62s had. They seem like they would be alot easier to keep clean.

I think an upholstery shop could duplicate one from vinyl with an old template. Lots of labor cost there though. A molded job like an 80 has would be nice!

wow
Moving slowly forward!

I got the rear gate and hatch installed, as well as the door latch hardware. I love the zinc plating but sorting pieces and bolts is a pain. Luckily I have complete rusty 87 to use as a reference.
Here's a shot of the gate parts before I realized I had the catches backwards!

Looking Great! I would dump the pre-cleaner that you have on the snorkel. I have one and it ingests water. Drove in the rain a couple times and found 1" of water in my air box. Better off with a safari snorkel head.

That's a bummer to hear. I have the other safari head but I like the looks of the Donaldson top. There is a way larger round top too but haven't checked that out. If I could find a way to make the round work I would rather. The snorkle came with the truck, otherwise I wouldn't mind sans-snorkle.

My parts 60 has a decent right front fender so I may eventually patch the fender vent over, paint it, and swap out the fender to de-snork

Pat, u could put a valve in the line kinda like in the air box of a motorcycle ?
Like a small drop tube at a low point with a drain? I think I get what you mean. I like.

My chipper has a cyclonic prefilter that works quite well. Never seen water collected anywhere in the system. Wonder what is different? I mean, they exist and work for a lot of turbo diesels.

The one I have is a Donaldson precleaner. I think it is intended for construction and ag equipment

Still messing around with the headliner on Chunk. I can confirm that a handheld steamer works really well to take out wrinkles. The part in the picture foreground was as bad as the back part. It still isn't dry so it is a bit blotchy but I am very encouraged.
