I did a little running video of Chunk this spring. He sat for the tail end of last year, plus the winter in storage because of a broken wire on the VSV controlling the shut off valve. All that time for a 20 minute fix. Doh!

I kind of go back and forth on the look of more modern wheels on a 60 series, plus I wanted to see what a little taller/wider tire looks like, so I stole the wheels and tires off of our HZJ-73 and threw them on last night. They are Fifteen52 wheels with 0 offset and Nitto 285/75-17 tires (34" tall). Unfortunately, the exhaust gets in the way so I really can't drive around much like this, but once I get that re-routed, it could happen. I gotta give these back to the other truck anyway.
I do like the look though.

I like this wheel from Nomad. It is a pretty close match to the Evo Corse Dakar wheel. Those aren't in the budget right now. None are really:p

Gray steelies for the win, sorry.

I like them too. It is more of an offset and tire size thing. 16" tires are tough to get what fits best

Nomad wheels has some interesting options.
Chunk has always been one of my favorite rigs on Mud, so sharp, so right.
Thank you. I get a bit obsessive about the truck I want to build. Super hard to see it all through to completion since I am an 80% and good enough guy, but really want to hit the 100% on this one. Getting close. I am seriously considering selling half of my trucks to push the money to really finish the keeper half of my Cruisers to the finish line. The market stinks right now so waiting is fine by me. If the whole market dies forever, I don't much care about that either. They print money with abandon, but the craftsmen who made the Land Cruiser happen are eternal. That's why I have gotten stuck on them for so many years. I'd still love an air cooled 911, a split bus, a woody Grand Wagoneer, a '65 Shelby (clone) - miss mine, a 56 Nomad with a 600+ inch BBC, a Class 11 Beetle, etc, etc.

Land Cruisers rise to the top every time.

Hey … I know a Cruiser guy whose day job is refurbing split window busses. Just sayin’ if you got itchy feet and want to make a move, maybe something could happen 😉

I'm a patina with restored and built mechanicals nut.
That's the perfect rig.

Powa
An air cooled flat six dumping into 5th gear driving away from you sounds like magic.

So does the gut shaking of a V8 big block pouring it on

Personally rebuilt Subaru flat four in every one of his busses. Patina can be arrange haha!

I was a Subaru guy way back, when they were quirky and slow- but cool. Had a bunch of 1600 wagons, and a Brat.
The newer engines are awesome, but I have a marque hangup. Even though the VW plants will leave you on the side of the road, wishing you hadn't gone down that path, they are part of a long, crazy lineage that is a part of history. I can't help but want to stay on that path.

I understand (says the guy who rebuilt a 2F for a 60 rather than spending the money on an LS swap).
