More done today. I have the parts to the body pretty much ready to paint. If I can get a couple of hours on them early tomorrow, then back to the shop later to paint, it will be a huge pita out of the way.

At home this afternoon I lifted the body off of the frame to get back to work on the chassis.

I needed something to store the body on in my enclosed trailer for a while and I remembered a little utility trailer I have that used to be for spraying the driveway for dust control (not worth it), and was rotting away in the "treasure pile" in the woods. I was planning to make it nice again and be a motorcycle hauler for my buddy Pete since he has helped me so much. Doing this will get me going on that project once Chunk body storage is done. I used a few 4x6 scraps I had around and after a quick "adjustment" with the chainsaw, they were just right for blocking up the body.

Was kind of running out of steam but the frame was outside and it is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow and there's no way I'm leaving that chassis outside so I hauled up the enclosed trailer and rolled the body in with the tractor. It was stupid tight again, and I had to let air out of the tires, again, but I got it. Last butt kicker job was pushing the chassis inside but all good now, bring on the crappy weather!

Man what a long weekend, but the last of my parts are painted! I couldn't let another week slip by without getting this behind me. I got the parts in the final stages of bodywork on Saturday, prepped and sealed this morning, then finished the paint tonight and waited til the parts were tacked up to get them to the back corner of the shop so we can rock on at 5 a.m. tomorrow. I'm beat, but happy!

Amazing Pat! Awesome milestone. Looking forward to your first engine start tomorrow. Why waste 8 hours on sleep. I can already see the turbo stripes. Wicked.

is that an older STIHL?

How many quarts did it take to paint body and panels?

It was close to 2 gallons all in. More than I was told it would take but fortunately I bought extra and mixed everything together since I painted at 2 different times. Not a big worry with single stage white. Both times I painted it was pretty cold and I had a hard time getting it thin enough, it is on there pretty thick which is good because there is a lot of orange peel and I will have some sanding/polishing ahead of me. I just talked to a professional painter friend of mine yesterday and he described the temperature-paint dry relationship as: 70 degrees is 24 hour cure, and every 15 degrees above or below that cuts in half or doubles the dry time. So 85 degrees would be 12 hours, 55 degrees would be 24 hours, etc. In hindsight, I should have utilized my oven a bit more and cut my dry time down. I got a run in my hood over an hour after I finished spraying because I moved it to the other side of the shop where it was pretty cold and it just kept on flowing. I noticed it the next morning. Doh!

Looking awesome! Also noticed the Foo Fighters poster in your shop. Love the Foos!

My son got me two Foo Fighters posters for Christmas. I love Dave Grohl an his positive attitude. There's a "Them Crooked Vultures" - Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones- poster on the other wall. My Queens of the Stone Age poster is sitting waiting to go up. Pretty much anything featuring the music of Dave or Josh Homme is just plain awesome.

I loved the Foos first for their music, and hilarious music videos. But then I became a huge Dave Grohl fan, and it just solidified my love for them even more. He even performed with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers! Him falling off of a stage, busting his leg, and then finishing the set, dude's a legend. Their documentary on Netflix is pretty cool! I think it's called Back and Forth? Great taste in music, and Cruisers. Can't wait to meet you at Solid Axle Summit #3!

Does anybody happen to know what cfm the 12ht is pumping with the stock 7psi of boost? I will probably post the question in the diesel forum but thought I'd ask if anyone "in the know" is reading this. Thanks!

Got dreams of intercoolers going on.

I saw them on the broken leg tour. Dave was so awesome. He apologized for having to sit, and played forever to make up for it.
