My first though/concern: Stain and fluid appearance in brake reservoir. I can not, see reservoir well in your pictures. Nor can I tell if dirt cleaned off outside of reservoir, revealing inside appearance. But if reservoir stained inside, it is a bad sign as to health of seals.

Second, thing I look at, is for corrosion on brake control wire wire/screws under boot.

Third, how many pumps to evacuate accumulator.

Fourth, how long to charge accumulator, with battery at 12.5 volts or better. Also not if front center chamber slower than to drain (stays higher for long, then rest of fluid in reservoir)

I do also look at flexible & hard lines, if rubber caps on each bleeder, if boot on rear brake slide pin are in pace and in good condition.

How brake are pads assembled and thickness of pads.

Wheel hubs condition and bearings for tightness/runout (no play).

Rotors thickness, condition, runout and parallelism.

E-brake for proper operating.
ok cool, love the helpful info and insight. so far, ive evacuated the front of the resevoir and replaced fluid with prestone dot-3. my brake lines a pretty hard, no visible cracks but idk theyre pretty ****ed up and rusty. im guessing the move is to replace with new oem brake lines while i do the brake fluid exchange. is there any write ups you know or details on a good overhaul?
my booster accumulator "think thats what its called" is pumping when key is in on position. brakes feel good but spongey. i fixed the abs light by doing a right front abs sensor. im at 365k and have been seeing all the posts of total brake failure. please let me know your advice, my ears are wide open my man

the rats nest in the engine bay have all been removed, no wires were chewed thankfully. theres still a smell in my air vents so i ordered new cabin filters and im planning on using gasket sealer on the bottom half of the cabin filter cover to remedey the condensation leak at passenger foot well.

-also ordered new pcv valve, grommet, and hose because i found tons of carbon build up when intake manifold was off :D

looking good, do you notice any difference in alignment and driving habits with the lift? my vote is no on spacers but just that's just one manbearpigs opinion
seems like the lift gave a better ride for sure. this rig was like driving a bowl of jello lol. the end links, inner/outer tie rods, steering rack bushings made the most change. the shocks give it a "kinda" bumpy ride, but once i throw all my gear in it i assume it will soften up. it doesnt feel bad, and its actually nice to be able to feel the road compared to how it was lol. im super happy with the OME kit and glad i didnt go 2.5" because i didnt have to do a diff drop. if anyone has an opinion on getting the diff drop even with a 1.5" lift please respond and let me know :D

I bought some 1" Bora spacers for a deal on marketplace and they pushed the wheels out perfectly with the fenders imop.
The effort on the truck is inspiring, keep up the good work!

the best excuse in the world to get an aftermarket bumper !
@JOMZSHAKES use this
"Honey since this was the flagship SUV replacement parts can be expensive. I Wouldn't want to get parts from a used truck in case it too was in a wreck. Safest option is an ARB"

I've had a pungent smell from the air vents and dove online. Looks like the 98 has the door slot for the cabin air filter. 8 took off the door and cleaned out the area and used gasket sealer where the worn out gasket is to remedy the AC drip symptom on passenger floorboard.

Used a pump airbag thing to hold the bottom trim open and made it super easy to get the door back on, I was kinda proud of this idea because people really struggle on that part.
I ran a whole can of Lysol thru every vent and let it sit. Then topped off the refrigerant from 30psi to 40psi with a AutoZone can. Complete air vent overhaul complete 🥳

- replaced brake lines with slee stainless steel kit!
- replaced all brake fluid with prestone dot 3 fluid
- replaced seat covers with coverado kit, could not be happier with the $80 investment there!
- replaced all worn out hoses and PCV hose/valve/grommet
- all i need is the front bumper and winch combo :D
