Hi guys

I’m looking for a budget solution to make my hood and fenders look a little more presentable. I went to two local paint shops and I was quoted $6,400 to paint the whole car and $1,400 to paint just the front clip. I asked how much would the front clip be if I prepped the car myself. They said $1,000. The rest of the car is in pretty good shape it’s just the hood and fenders that are pretty sun damaged.

Any suggestions or tips on what I can do on a budget ? I don’t have a garage or access to a spray booth unfortunately. ( I’m close to NorCal) I may stop by Maaco and see what they say.

I paid $7.7k for the truck so paying $6.5k for a paint job just doesn’t make financial sense.

What about a Japanese flag wrap for the hood ? Haha jk

Sounds like you have already gotten decent pricing

1k for them to paint it is pretty cheap already. If you want to go cheaper and you're already doing the prep yourself, just buy a cup gun and paint it outside in the shade on a calm day.
