It rained really hard Thursday nite when we arrived. I thought it would just keep the dust down.
The first pic that @EWheeler posted was first thing Friday morning first obstacle on triple sevens trail. I have run that trail many times before and never had an issue always walked right up that obstacle, but the sand was wet and so was the sandstone.
The reg immediately started to slide around and got sideways driver side tire way up in the air. I tried to correct it, but it kept getting worse, then Ben jumped on the front tire to bring it back down some and then I called for the hook. What a way to start the trip😂
When the sandstone gets wet it’s a hole other ball game😳

It’s the first time meeting members Evan @EWheeler & Ben @benroberds and his wife Val.
Great People really glad to make the trip and get to know them!!

That 1st picture is crazy! High pucker factor for sure.

You should have seen him full throttle assault the “You gotta be nuts” climb today! That was crazy. Took everyone by surprise and unfortunately no phones were out :(

Another great day of wheeling.
We ran the Maze trail today it’s really crazy how much harder the trail has gotten since the first time I ran it five or six years ago.

Wish I would’ve gotten more pictures but it didn’t happen.
Like @EWheeler said I did run the You got to be nuts obstacle today.
I have put tires on it a few times before but always chickened out. It’s a very intimidating obstacle, almost vertical with a few bumps thrown in for good luck.
There was a group of well built Jeeps there when we got there and one Buggy no one attempted it.
As we were pulling up two or three of them asked me if I was going to try it looking at me like the soccer mom Rig didn’t have a chance 😂
We pull up and looked at it then put tires on it again and backed back down.
I asked Well Dan what do you think he replied
We can die like men.
At that I pinned the skinny peddle to the floor
And didn’t let up, backing down on this obstacle is not a good option !!
We made it to the top and all we could hear was a bunch of cheering from the jeepers and our group.
It was a great run and unfortunately no one got any video or pictures.

Anyone that wants a bitchin 80, just copy Richards build documented in this thread. No frills, no gimmicks, strictly business. Its a simple rig that does everything very well. Watching his rig through the rough high speed stuff, the soft dobinsons springs he has make the truck look smooth as silk, and work awesome on the trail too.

Man that looks awesome, I would love to go wheel there. Probably the only two wagons in the area too.

We saw another very well built 80 today in the state park. Beige or silver colored, appeared to be on 40’s. Richard drove over to talk with the owner but I think he was in vault (toilet) making a deposit.
