Down for two of these.....

Has anyone looked at the hardware store about using a pipe plug?

Might have to take the one left out tomarrow & see if a pipe plug would work.
I'll let eveyone know....

Man I can't believe how fast stuff gets buried to page 2 and 3 now.. sorry I missed all this. But yeah, I'll get to work on banging out a design, then will test them on my own seat just to make sure. Shouldn't be more than another week or two, I'll post up an update when I have one, tbo if this works you get yours for free. stay tuned...

Mark me down for a couple as well.

Well, neither front seats in my 95 move. I haven't found any parts laying around, so I am sure I need two as well.

I'm with everyone else, both fronts in mine are dead, so I'd take 4 or 5 from ya!

Seems like a lot of you are having the same problem as I. The plug might not be your entire problem. I had the same problem with the seat not moving and when I called the dealers for the fix it was going to cost $1200. I tore the seat off the track and like all of you I was missing the PLUG. The pictures show the part described as the HOUSING(sorry no part number) and what happens after the plug has been out of it for to long. Sorry about the quality, but notice the nylon gear in the second picture, it got chewed up from the metal screw which is held in position by the nylon plug. The housing at the stealer cost around $80. Maybe you guys can find it cheaper.

Yes, the white cap screws into the right side of the first picture and holds the metal screw gear in its correct place.

ill take two and my buddy will surely take two as well

thanks for the help

I don't know the part number. The price scared me, so I called IRBIS. He knew exactly what I wanted and is excellent to work with.

Haines that is cool, thanks for posting pics of that. hopefully most of you only need this little cap.. but good to know nonetheless. And nothing wrong with calling Irbis, those guys are great!

Ok the first prototype is done, and seems to work. However there are a few tweaks that could be done to the design though to make it even better, so I want to do one more test before I try to sell these.. shouldn't take long though. noting major just needed the small hole opened up a little and a quick trip to the belt sander to get a little shorter... the next file should nail it.

Here are your pictures, sorry for the poor focus in the second pic ..

Just the plastic gear? probably.. I mean the whole thing is possible, the housing too, just need to draw it out. I've never drawn anything that complex though, so would be a challenge for sure. Do you just need a gear? I'll try to pop mine off this weekend and have a look...

I am interested in a few gears if the price is right. I PM'd you regarding the bolts last week.

Hey medtro, delete a few PMs would ya? I can't get one to you at the moment! :grinpimp:

Sorry for the hijack.
