Very well thought out and clean execution. This is reminding me more and more how much I need to rewire mine.

Thanks - Get in there Matt and get busy

Next came the rear bumper. I made the mistake of falling in love with the "Alpha Overland" Rear Bumper with dual swing-outs. I contacted AO and Larry told me he would be happy to build me one, but it would be 8-12 weeks. Well, 9 months later and an exorbitant amount of frustration I had a bumper personally delivered from Larry #9 of 9....

Needless to say, it was worth the wait as this is so solid and well built. Glad Larry and I could work it out in the end and get it finished.

I consider this bumper overbuilt in every way. I honestly can't find fault or even a thing I would change on it and I think that's why I wanted the AO Bumper - Its exactly what I would have built.

And did I mention that the swing outs are rock solid.. No shaking or rattles with the spare tire mounted or a 100lbs of gear on the other swing-out.

Below I mounted a 6" LED Bar that is properly run through a 30AMP Relay and is activated with a toggle on the drivers left side dash. I also mounted the rear camera and also wired in a LED Plate Light...

Next came some sliders from Cruisin Offroad. I looked at several sets and this again was something I would build the same way - After pricing out a tube bender, notcher, and looking at the time value of money, I decided to purchase it directly. Basically... I love them....

I wanted to keep the front flaps so I notched and cut them to fit around the sliders... Perfect....

I also wanted to get rid of the stock cross-member so I decided to fabricate a stouter one with skid plates for the Transmission pan & Transfer Case... Not that I would ever need them, but you guy's know how it is...

Started here...

I figured a truck with 90,000 even though I didn't have any signs of the drive-shafts needing rebuilt, I should go ahead and do it.. After pricing Toyota parts and a drive-shaft shop to rebuild them, I just figured I would spend the extra and get both front and rear drive-shafts from -Onur- ... That way I would have spares...

New Toyota Goodness :smokin:

Some other interior goodness for you guys...

I wanted an ipad mount that didn't shake or vibrate all over the place and decided on the Jotto desk after a conversation with @LandCruiserPhil...

Very sturdy setup, but pricey...

This is the mount that I secured on the trans tunnel...

I have a lifeproof case on my Ipad2 and just Velcro it to the desk... Super solid and just connect it to the console USB Port for Charging!!!

The meticulous nature of this build is what gives me the greatest satisfaction.

You did it right John.

Now, how to talk the :princess: into a 70 series soft top..... The kids really did like it a lot. :)

Wow....That's impressive. very detailed, very meticulous. Obviously you have driven it a little since you got it, but for the amount of time you have put into it, it seems like you wouldn't have had time to actually DRIVE it!

Great Job!

But........Where are all the CUP HOLDERS????????? :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Thanks Onur. Coming from you means a lot.. When I showed her the pics of the girls and me in the BJ she just shook her head...

Ha.... No need for cup holders. No one is allowed to eat or drink in it... How do you think it stays co clean? You don't keep carpets looking like new by having your kids spill stuff... :flipoff2:

Sorry but didn't have many detailed pics of the stereo install. Just wanted Sirius, NAV, Bluetooth so I went with a Kenwood DNX 771HD.

This is the harness I modified to connect to the stock harness... Obviously the stock amp was removed for best quality.

Next came the ARB Outback drawers... Thanks @sleeoffroad

Again I had multiple sets of plans on how I wanted to build my own set of drawers, but I'm not a wood guy and after looking at the tooling and cost of lumber to do it right, I called Slee and, well.. Easy....

79C2E6F6-328B-4C30-A5DF-8E571516435F_zpspslzkl3f.jpg

I went with the roller top on the passenger side to accommodate the ARB Fridge

D54415FB-E58D-47A7-BB03-87A7012C6DF8_zpsr99gtxjz.jpg

I'm so OCD is not even funny anymore. These drawers are so nice... I can keep all my tools, camping supplies and so much more all out of the way.. Quality is fantastic.. My tools alone probably weigh in at well over 150lb's and my 9 year old can open and close the slider..

2640AED7-6E24-44E6-9E32-75F639A481E7_zpsqcpqbqat.jpg

I wanted the JDM Screens so bad after I saw them @mot .. No go anymore so I just fabricated them myself... Made a set for both rear sliders and the rear doors...

Cut your design and make sure it fits

324B2219-5435-4846-BCBB-679E3818D3F3_zpsgsxebxfx.jpg

Next, get happy with your opening and make it happen.. I basically had two pieces of ABS plastic that I would sandwich screening between and seal together with Black RTV. The below is the inside piece. Notice the cutout for the exterior slider hardware as this provided a positive lock into the channel.

C94B5374-452E-4BCC-AD10-AEB267C3D392_zpsgdtupjij.jpg

McMaster Carr provided the ABS Plastic and screening... Next we get the body sanded for adhesion and then cleaned...

RTV is next with the screening..

BAM.. Camping Screens...

Yea sounds easy, but it was a PIA :bang: never again...

As clean as that cabin is, you need to check out the other thread(s) about the cabin air filters. That way it will keep the interior surgically clean....until you use the screens and let in all the dust......

Just giving you a hard time. I am thoroughly impressed with all that you have done. It's a NEW truck!

Thanks so much - I've been watching that thread, but have to start looking for a better solution... Unless its over engineered, well.. you know...

that is impressive in itself that you have kids and nobody eats in it. I have 2 dogs, 2 kids and a wife. Mine is covered with slober and old french fries from road trips. :)
