Haha I said the same thing, when I first envisioned this endeavor I assumed it would be a "here you go" here is your basic setup for as cheap as humanly possible, but after some time and thought and talking to Joey, everything basically has to be handed to anyone as if a 8 year old child was buying it. It makes a much better setup then having 30 different people buying different turbo blankets, hose protectors, etc and then having one person not "get it" and complain about the whole kit. lol.

This is my nightmare.
But there is another part of it. We all have various levels of mechanically ability and tool availability. I want the install experience to be the same for everyone. I also want shops to be able to get this for a customer and KNOW that shop time is 8 hrs and everything is there. And most importantly this is about branding. If it was a basic kit then everyone throws their own stank in it and it’s no longer a Wits’ End Turbo Kit. Consistency throughout installs is important.

Er uh, I dunno. Am I?
Nope when I was spec'ing everything, I made the decision that it was not needed in this application given the intended use. Just like your puma mount and your disconnects are not made out of 4340, or your flip up windows are not made from 7075 aluminum. You picked the appropriate material for the job. Comparing a 2018 journal bearing oil cooled turbo to a 1990's oil and water cooled turbo is somewhat a fools errand, nothing is comparable.
Everyone has their own perspectives with water cooled turbos like Marco said some people don't want the failure points, some people don't want to add the heat back into the coolant system.
If money was no object I would take a current CNC'd, ball bearing, oil and water cooled, Ti-gamma turbine wheel, integrated wastegate, turbo, but when that was an option to people at $9-10k not a single person was willing to step up to the plate. Just like I assume no one would buy your products if your material cost was 2-3x what it is and it did the same job.

I'm diligently working on getting all my other things taken care of from a maintenance standpoint so when this kit is ready to go and any final bugs are worked out, I can add the kit.
Joey is going to the perfect overboard level of detail and making it so a monkey like me can install it.

Hey Joey, is there a recommended list of services, etc to have completed on the engine and drivetrain before bolting the kit on?
I am guessing PM's up to date, spark plugs, ceramic coat your exhaust manifolds, and maybe at least have a head gasket on hand if yours is the original.

Check to make sure the self-changing oil system/undercarriage rust prevention system is fully operational 
I did zero turbo-specific PM for my build. In retrospect, the only thing I would have done better is a little cooling system maintenance (hadn't changed my coolant since ??? it was gunky and brown, original 300k+ fan clutch with original juice). In all honesty, I think I would have run into these issues with or without the turbo... it was just time. I think if your truck is in good working order, you're probably just fine.
