Lol just noticed he has a diesel swap...in that case I'm not sure how they do it. I've done multiple spring changes on LS engines and that's how I've always done it. My info is no good anymore haha

He put every piston he was working on at TDC, preventing the valves from falling in. There's a way to find out when the first cylinder is at TDC and then you rotate a certain amount from there. I'm glad he got to do it, because I would have had to drive it to the community college shop and take out the injectors to use compressed air.

I forgot to add these pics. You can see the remote oil fitting have been changed. Thanks for talking me into getting that done, it looks better and takes up less room.
The front engine cover it taken off to be resealed properly. Has a small stubborn leak.
You can also see the airbox is out. Getting a larger one put in. If the new one works, then I should be able to drive through the rain without turning the snorkel head. The water would pool at the bottom of the box and the air filter would be too high to suck up the water. Then unplug the drain at the bottom when you want to dry it. In theory it works, let's see if we can get reality to cooperate.

Wow I completely forgot about this method. I used this last time I changed the springs on my truck.
That's why an 80 series airbox rocks (if you can fit it). Cyclonic air cleaner with a way to drain out any water.

was wondering where you were hiding. If you remember we tried an 80s airbox and the stock 60 one when we were still doing the swap, it wouldn't fit. So a custom one it is.

Ok mudders need some help. While taking out the transmission and transfer case yesterday to reseal some gaskets, my buddy was not able to secure them correctly and they fell on their side breaking the vacuum assembly on the TC. That's the piece that makes it go 4wd. Now I need a need a replacement, but the only ones I can find are almost $500. I have finals this week and that's been taking up most of my time. I was hoping to pick up Big Red by this weekend to take the family on a trip, now that's very doubtful. To be honest I'm not upset or angry, I'm just glad he didn't hurt himself. So if any of you know where I can source this for an affordable price please let me know.

I don't know if it is the same as the old 3speed tcase vacuum actuators, but if anyone knows if they will work I have one.

Phoenician, really like the look of your Cruiser. Can't wait to get mine driving. On page 19, where did you get your snorkle? Who made your sliders? Hate to hear you have broken parts already. Hopefully someone has the piece you need.

Thanks, I look forward to seeing your driving yours as well. I bought my snorkel off ebay. It's from a malaysian company that makes them for safari. it's the same design as far as I can tell, but much more affordable. The sliders I got from http://www.cruisinoffroad.com/. The guy is really nice and professional, he worked with me step by step while I was still deployed and he contacted me afterwards to make sure I'm happy with what I got.
As far as the broken parts, this stuff happens. Better a broken part than broken bones for the holidays. Hopefully I'll be able to find an affordable replacement.
