Happy New Year everyone!

It's been several weeks since I've cut the exhaust pipe to about half. I've been monitoring the EGTs and Boost gauge to make sure the variances were not weather related. In the freezing temps and in the high 70s so far the results are close. At 70 mph and above the PSI numbers went from 10 to 15psi and can go higher when putting the pedal down. The EGTs are lower than they usually sit and it takes a little longer to build up the heat. The engine feels a bit more responsive as well.

So my take away from this is when it's time to install a full exhaust pipe I'm going with at least 4 inches. the 2.5 inches I had on there was building up some back pressure and heat.

A friend of mine said I could have an entire pallet of wood if I can haul it off her property. She lives way out in the country and has about 25 acres of woodland.

Not being one to turn down a free source of heat, I accepted her offer. I hooked up the trailer to big red and aired up the tires.

My drive there was easy, mostly 5th gear at 70mph. After a few detours I ended up in a field with this beauty.

Soon her friends came closer for some attention.

I loaded as much as I could, played with the animals then headed out.

Here's what I brought home. There's at least half of that still to be picked up. Might go next weekend.

On the way back the rig handled great. Shifted Between 4th and 5th gear a lot depending on incline and my average speed was around 65mph.

Now I want to build up that trailer. Make it SOA and able to hold a RTT.

Time for an oil change. Got some Valvoline diesel oil with the big C on the gallon, but trying to decide if i should stick with the WIX oil filter or not. What are you cummins guys using for yours?

Not really. Aren't you running a remote oil filter setup? Was it an Amsoil deal?

The remote setup can take any fuel filter. I think I'll stick with wix.

I like Wix/Napa. I found a Donaldson dealer nearby with a filter that has more capacity and is cheaper so I've been running those instead.

Changed the oil, next oil change will be at 224000 miles.

This showed up, can't wait to install it.

I'm already thinking this needs a longer hose, we'll see.

I bought a light weight slim hose at Harbor Freight for next to nothing with a coupon. Hasn't failed me yet and is the perfect length to get to all four tires.

I had to do this job twice because I didn't use thread sealer the first time. All in all it took me about 30 minutes including looking for that sealer.

Unplug the wires. The instruction says is doesn't matter which way they go back on, but I marked them anyway.

Unbolt the solenoid looking thing from the tiny compressor.

Here are the three pieces that will bolt together. Really I paid ARB just for the T fitting and they threw in a short hose.

Reassemble And test

It works, but will either need a longer hose or pass the hose thru the cab to reach the front right tire.

Like your set up for your compressor. A buddy of mine that owns the local 4x4 shop has some bulkhead fittings that bolt to your bumper and you can hook your hose up there or whereever you put the fitting.

Hey Phoenician, I got an arb compressor and that same hose line but haven't had a chance to install it yet. I was wondering how much longer of a hose would it take to reach around the outside to get to the front pass. tire? I was thinking of mounting mine in the same area or in the engine cabin but still debating. Maybe using an extension hose from harbor freight would also work. Nice setup, I like the way that red horse stands:beer:

To reach from the outside I think it needs two or three feet. I'll double check for you this weekend. It's dark and freezing right now .
