Thanks Onur for the info! Would you know who was the original supplier?

04371-60210 is for >01/1974 when the yoke changed! This partnumber seems highly available anywhere.

They are easy to recognize, the <01/1974 has outside clips while the >01/1974 has inside clips.

Yes.

Onur, do you have any data on what year or application switched to the inner clips to retain cap ? And, are the joints the same size just different method of cap retention. My 70 fj40 has the e clips on the outside.

@peesalot

According to this application table, it appears 6903 - 7401 were interchangeable. The change was made, and 7401- 8007 were also alike.

The 7401-8007 parts are all superseded by 04371-60210, $78.66 OEM list.

Earlier parts are all NLA.

So, I found a NOS 04371-36011 all the way from Australia (I think seller has at least another one if you search on Ebay).

Comes with instructions explaining the snap rings size... I hope I don't need another size because that must be a hard one to find.

Instructions in English and Japanese!

The u-joint is still in a sealed plastic so I did not unwrap it (it's for my trail spare parts box) but I can still see the logo under the plastic.
On the main body in the center:

Not sure if it's a T, a lambda or a Japanese Kanji but that does look neither like the Matsuba logo or the GMB logo.
Maybe an old TOYO logo? Some recognizes it?
