Best oil filter for a 1978 fj40 2F

This was recommended here when I did research for my 2F, but I haven't used it yet. Not expensive and easy to find onine. I read negative comments about Wix. Fram is another option to buy locally.

Changing oil and filter often is more important to me than the brand. I have a Franz toilet paper filter unit I'm going to put on.

Who do you buy your parts through? Any company you recommend?

I have used cruiser corps a bunch in the past. I also need to get a gas tank sending unit gasket but they are out of them.
Ask 10 people and you will likely get 10 different responses. I like to support our Mud vendors when possible. But other times, it may make sense to procure parts through a Toyota dealer. Sine we don't have a "local" option, I prefer Capo Valley Toyota Parts Center. Their website provides 24/7 service to accommodate those middle of the night parts needs and they provide a small discount for Mud members:

I have tried that web page before but when I try to select the year it does not go back to 1978

At the top, just enter the part number. No need to enter the year or VIN. Sometimes, it is a two-step process: Find the part number using the Toyota Electronic Parts Catalog https://toyota-usa.epc-data.com; then armed with the part number plug that into your preferred dealer's website.

Mobil One 301a (pretty sure that’s the correct #)
I have 2 DD 2F’s. Been using Mobil One filters for the last decade. Walmart always has them in stock.

Can’t seem to find the part number for a 78 fj40 2f fuel tank sending unit gasket. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

just make one.

That Denso filter is too small, imo.

I'm using a 25-micron MicroGard 'Select.' The pressure on the instrument cluster gauge seems to show that more oil is making it thru the filter - not scientific, just anecdote. I'm relying on the detergent package in the oil to keep things clean, so frequent oil changes are imperative.
