The magnets could cause chaos, they are strong.

The magnetic tool tray I referenced above, installed. Note, it will work through carpet, those magnets are strong.

Not sure if this has been posted in here already.. but I just picked up to LED 1157 bulbs for my tail/brakes. Much brighter than the incandescent! I got them at Princess Auto for $4.99 each (or something like that) Very easy swap out! Got a set of 6" 100W driving lights at the same time for $28.

Replaced my "way too small" stock center console with a homebuilt unit a couple weeks ago. One of the PO's had removed the rear heater from my rig and replaced it with a small box that did nothing but take up useable space and put the stock ceneter console on that. While functional it was horibly small and a major space killer. I bought a sheet of MDF and went to town. I now have a CAVERNOUS locking center console with a nice padded lid that doubles as a sweet armrest. Cost breakout was $18 for a 4x8 sheet of MDF (used less than 1/2) $8 for a lock, $6 for hinge and less than $5 for other misc hardware, bringing me to a grand total of $37. That and a good weekend in the driveway netted me a nice big storage area. Still need to cut the holes for the cupholders and map holder slot but other than that I'm happy with it. I bought some Lock and Lock containers from Costco (Like these Airtight Food Storage Container Set - 17 Piece Lock & Lock) and will keep them inside to help organize the contents of the console now. That was an added $32 cost and a great buy for under $50 in itself.

I'll get some pics up in a day or two.
Pics are here at the bottom of this post... https://forum.ih8mud.com/4147077-post42.html

Speaking of center consoles...

Spare cig lighter socket installed inside the console, to avoid messy cables around the shifter, and because it is cool (and even lighted!).

Diamondplate bottom to compensate for the cracked and broken mounting holes. Bye-bye big fat washers, hello more custom Al diamondplate uses!

Both free (left overs and spares).

by the way, wtf are those four round plugs on the interior sides inside the console for (two each side, the L side ones shown above)???

is that where the little change tray attaches between the driver seat and the console?

I don't think so, but I'll look closer.

They are for the cupholders. I had to take my cupholders out for mounting the CB .... :frown: I have no cupholders....

Switched the Seats

PO must have been huge, not tall.....fat

drivers side seat was repaired at some point, the hinge between the back and bottom was broken and re-welded.....pretty shotty job

I got sick of driving leaning toward the door, so I finally pulled the seats and switched the driver and passanger.............huge difference. I must sit about three inches higher just due to lack of fatigue in the seat springs and foam compression.

Added bonus was the really tight fit around the console, due to the back adjustment levers now being on the inside, have stopped it from rattling:bounce:

Easy labor..major improvement

I'll get around to new seats and upholstery at a much later date now:cheers:

That only works if the fluid can make it to the sprayer . . . my hose is broke somewhere above my D Pillar . . . when I push the button it just dribbles down into my cargo area . . .

Thats my next fix

I had to do that in December. What a fxxxin nightmare fishing all the chunks of the old brittle hose out and then threading the new one in. Used thick rubber vacuum hose the the correct ID to replace it with. Should last a good long time now.
