I didn't know an FJ40 could reach 80 mph. Shhh.... 🤫 we won't tell my wife that. One of the things she's looking forward to is the FJ not going fast like my motorcycle did.
V8 and a five speed doesn't hurt either!

That has nothing to do with the reversal.
I've been driving a 40 for 49 years. I beg to differ.

See the message "Must have been a helluva' good installation", ... Now, ... Bless Your heart!

Fresh bushings vs old bushings.
They'll do the same in oe trim.

I have no problem doing 80 with 2 fingers on the wheel in my 40 with 2.5” lift and 33’s. Proper setup and good condition parts.

You may have read my posts having sent my FJ40 to @Jdc1 at Rubber City Land Cruisers for some heavy mods.

Truck is done and is on its way back to me. I have been driving this truck for almost 4 years …it NEVER stopped like this.

Jesse did the full FJ60 disk brake swap for me
I am mighty convinced the best upgrade is the disk brake conversion…..check out this “FantomWorks” styled intentional lock-up

That is way better than the old pump the breaks method.

Were those all 4 wheels locking up or fronts, backs? It seems to fishtail a little towards the end of the video. I've run 4 wheel discs for decades, on my 1st 40 they equally lock up, but it's frt end isnt stock. My recent set up on another 40 has a stk disc frt end with Monte Carlo rears and an adjustable proportioning valve and the rears are still a little overpowering. I'm considering adding a 2nd valve.

These are front discs and rear drums..proportioning valve full open currently. Jesse texted me, he’s check out that swerve… might have e been just a slight left pull but… he has this as a priority. Video was made at last night at midnight so before it’s on the road, he’ll give it another check…I’ll say this…no other Land Cruiser I have ever had has stopped like that

Yesterday I saw a mustang blow right through a stop sign never slowing down, so maybe having good brakes is over rated. LOL 🤪

@FloridaLife i guess it’s all about the person behind the wheel…face it, you drive. Is there a long list of people you would choose to ride behind or next to?

One in a while I get behind a car who knows the process… I almost want to roll down my window at a traffic light and thank him!

My favorite is to drive a truck with explosives placards - most folks don't F with you. Second is one that has the nuke symbol, again most people don't crowd you.

In a similar vein, here is an accessory on the back of my 40:

One of my older childhood friends was Green Beret. Besides being a tunnel rat, he did time on the gun trucks in convoy - IIRC there were 5 claymores on each side of the duece and half to discourage boarders.

They do tend to “get your attention”…😎
