Can you do me a favor? Do you have that insert or can you find a part number or link for me? I am going to buy one. Thanks.
655A52-0010 is the part number on the insert. It doesn't bring up anything in searches.

If you would like to borrow mine for design work send me a PM. I can stand to be without it for a little while.

Anyone have and advice on running wires up to the overhead acangauage and AUX switch mount that replaces the sunglass holder?

Think most run up the drivers a-pillar and then under the headliner.

Anyone have photos of the Make 23 - Yaesu mount installed?
@half k cruiser?

The upper two knobs seem pretty tight in the mount. Any real world experience from anyone on this?

I just got back from a 2000mi road trip. Had this installed the whole time. The pictures have a little bit of glare due to the screen, I will eventually get some re-takes with the remote turned off. As for the upper knobs, the volume knob on the left is fine because it is smaller, easy to get your fingers on. The channel knob on the right is larger and yes, it could benefit from some clearance above it. However, it's still very usable as is.

I didn't measure to see what the angle of the remote is but he nailed it. It's the best balance of visibility and clearance over the rear view mirror.

I'm going to shoot @BenCC just a handful of observations and see where he wants to go with it. Otherwise it's the cleanest remote setup I've seen on a 100 series. I highly recommend it.

@Ayune quick question... does the Scangauge use a standard RJ45 wiring setup/schematic with Cat5/6 cable? Luckily still have a ton of Cat6 cable leftover from a few years ago when I wired my house, plus all the tools to build the cables.
You can use a standard RJ45 cable, straight-through wiring from plug to plug.
