I mocked it together to see how it will look. I didn't redo the other parts because I didn't want to get into more teardown

I'm pretty happy with how it looks. I've got my re coated stock pulley and my new 3" pulley in the picture too.

#edit I've got to say that when I first posted this, I didn't know what to say. Now I feel I must say that this forum has been my go to for such an amazing amount of tech info, which there is no compare. More importantly though, is the amazing people on here as well, it has been a blast and I am grateful for it all. Also, so many of the 80's here are amazing and keep me motivated to stay broke using everyone's great ideas!

I gotta admit my first post was a little too generic and felt it needed an edit and give some credit

Well, the head gasket (plus extras) saga continues. Looking at my CX racing header and it occurred to me that cylinders 2 and 3 come out and go up, right where the TRD supercharger mounts. A quick test fit confirms - no go.

I've always wondered what it would be like to fab headers so here's my chance, time to make some clearance. I sawed out the two pipes and started shaping. Not a bad deal at all really, just hack, eye it up and tack it together

I had to blast off the high temp powder for welding it together. I just reused the pieces I had in a different order. I used my cut off saw and a Sawzall. I used regular blades which lasted one cut per blade on the stainless but a $6 pack of blades got me through the project.

I had to do a little tweak to cylinder 2 to make more clearance but no biggie. Got it all tacked and ran it to a friend who welds for a large tooling shop on my street. Got it done and back in an hour

Re prepped it and new high temperature coating. Hopefully this weekend it gets installed

I think the header was made like it was to try to make equal length tubes, which is good from a performance standpoint. Funny thing is, when I was done I had about a 3/8" long piece left over. I sent cx racing an email telling them to warn others with the TRD supercharger that the header won't fit. No response yet

I doubt they'll care.

They don't seem to, no response. I can make it work for me and that's fine, but if they don't care to respond I'm glad to help others avoid the problem by not buying their product.

A little closer to the end. Mounted the supercharger

Got my first order of Wits-End goodies. The attention to detail is amazing, right down to the packaging

thanks Joey!

Woohoo!!! BTW, just so you know, each of those QC codes are individually for THAT product, not just the website itself ;)

Glad you like. Now wrap up some fresh Elk tenderloin and ship it back in that paper over some dry ice :flipoff2:

Drawing an Elk tag in Michigan is about as tough to get as a unicorn tag, otherwise I would

FINALLY back on the road!! I had to take the intercooler off three times to work on items under it but she is now running, I'm cautiously optimistic so far. Timing it was nice with my new diagnostic port jumper (shameless "like" fishing).

I drove the 7 miles to work and it ran good, I've got a CEL and I haven't looked into it yet but I imagine it's egr as the header is pretty much a block off plate. I wanted to check clearance on my new 3" exhaust system I had made because it sure didn't look like it would happen. The shop said they would make any mods necessary if it didn't fit. I picked it up to full bump with a forklift and it cleared just fine. I'll try to get pics of how they got the 3" pipe over the frame

The exhaust note is kind of like the old ems system but doesn't drone inside as bad. It's got a really loud rap to it on hard acceleration which sounds pretty cool. Not sure if it's too loud yet or not

Looking good! Did you set the timing to stock?
