View attachment 1095516 FINALLY back on the road!! I had to take the intercooler off three times to work on items under it but she is now running, I'm cautiously optimistic so far. Timing it was nice with my new diagnostic port jumper (shameless "like" fishing).View attachment 1095506

Hell to the yeah!

Glorified paper clip. Genius idea whoever came up with that :grinpimp:

So are you saying...it doesn't totally suck? :hmm:

Looking good! Did you set the timing to stock?
I did. 3 degrees. As soon as I get the chance, the water/ methanol injection system goes on as well as a 3" pulley. I'll go for more timing then

It's totally awesome, seriously

Exhaust sounds great!

I mounted an ebay 40" light bar on, not wired yet but I had to address the wind noise through my roof rack so on it went. I found these tube brackets from McMaster Carr for 1"tube and fabbed up mounts. Here's the bracket

Then it was just a matter of welding on some flat stock and bolting on the light bar bracket. Worked great

Going camping this weekend and I really wanted to take my trailer and roof top tent but it is just mounted to the trailer top and I can't get the cover in the trailer. Also I have an annex room and it's too low for that

So, I decided to build an adjustable frame that holds the tent up for trailer access and will adjust higher to put the annex room on. Almost got it ready but I'm not gonna make it because I leave tomorrow so on the roof goes the tent for this weekend. Just a couple of pics of progress so far. You can see in the one picture the height it will be fully extended, I think that will work. I just hope it isn't too high in the down position . I plug welded a tube in a larger tube, then that is the sliding portion to raise it

Went to the UP this weekend, decided I really needed to quiet my exhaust down. It sounded cool but was just too loud. My exhaust guy put a resonator at the end and reworked the pipe from the muffler back. We'll I got it done literally last minute and didn't look at it. The sound control was perfect but the clearance, not so much. Hit some really whooped out trails and smashed the crap out of it. Luckily I didn't pinch it shut completely and got around. I definitely want to work on interior heat control, better cooling on the expressway at 80 mph with the air on, and sound deadener. All I've thought about is trail but I have to drive so far: 5 hours to UP or 24 hours to "out west" that u have to build a truck that gets it all. I must say, the engine mods make highway running fun. You get that moment where some moron doesn't want to let you in and you punch it and pull away, people are totally surprised that a

big ol truck can roll like that- very fun.

And the smooshed exhaust shot

Well, a few things to update. First I smashed my exhaust, no biggie, it really was too loud anyway. Kind of awesome sometimes and too loud too often. My exhaust guy rerouted the pipe and added a straight thru resonator. The exit is on the drivers side due to the rosonator going parallel with the rear end.

Now it is nice and quiet until it's to the floor, then it wakes up and barks-perfect. As a bonus, I can hear the supercharger now and it sounds nice too.

Next up was a new @landtank diesel fan clutch. I never got above 206* on the expressway but at 77 mph it would climb quick from 196 to 206 and I backed off, especially pulling my trailer. It's nice to roll with traffic so I decided to invest in an improvement. Before

I wish that was the end of the story, but I'm not that wise. I didn't test drive and the next morning I was hustling my daughter to golf practice. Took off and I could hear the fan hitting the shroud. No biggie, jump in the truck, fix later. So later, I can't get it to make a sound idling, only accellerating. I pushed on the shroud some while it was idling and bam, blew the bottom of the shroud through the radiator, genius! Found out too late the shroud wasn't engaged in the lower clips. Silver lining is the radiator didn't look so hot anyway, it was an all brass replacement that looked a bit corroded. Off to Amazon for a new Koyo.

I may have already asked you this but did you re-gear your 80? If not, do you think it runs okay with the 35's? I'm getting ready to put my lift on and trying to decide if I want to put 33 or 35's on my TRD wheels. Thanks and the rig is looking great!
