Subscribed. Nice work! I've been thinking of similar mods to mine too like the snorkle and Duratracs and a good clean up! I like the Alpine as well. Also interested in watching your head reassembly.

Thanks. I haven't been this fired up about working on a vehicle in a long time. The 80 wraps so many things in one package, not perfect but probably closer than most and thanks to mud, the people and knowledge base make it awesome.

Very nice , want to hear on your result on the axle seal grinding . Should be a really nice option to save $$$ on a new axle . Thanks

I was wondering if you found out your Alpine speakers model number? Great build, and really like your bed frame. Great use of old tent poles.

I don't have that many miles since the front end rebuild but all is fine so far. Grinding the seal lip definitely moves the seal off the wear groove. Kind a spur of the moment deal because I had the truck all tore apart in my driveway and had to do something

I think I'm almost done pulling parts off the motor. Painted the block black by mixing up some enamel with hardener and brushing it on. Tough reach but way better than a rusty block

Got a new bling product today. Heard about this stuff on a post here and found it again on a BMW forum. Gummi Pflege, crazy name, made in Germany I believe. It's mainly for renewing rubber but it's supposed to work well in plastic too. For 8 bucks on amazon it's worth a shot. Helped my collectors trim a ton. We'll see if it lasts

Did some bling for the head gasket job too. Went with bright red and clear for the valve cover. I sanded the red off the script before clear but didn't come out great, might have to paint the script

Found out that I wouldn't get the dowel that is holding up the head install before the weekend and a friend of mine offered to make one so we did that tonight

To back up a little, I tore down the supercharger last night. Looks really good, bearings are tight. I'm going to clean it up, re grease and oil and put it back together. Very good chance I may do some porting on it to to help efficiency (cooler temps).

I discovered that the rear needle bearings on the trd m90 are pretty easy to change because you can get to the back of them to drive them out, so I use a 3/8 drive 17mm socket that fit perfectly and gently drove them out. I found bearings on ebay for $23, same part # and brand.

Got the main supercharger housing taped up and blasted the outside as well as a few other parts for powder coating

Next big step is the head is back on this morning. Still have to torque and do cams. Hopefully tonight I can make more he

Cool! I was thinking about doing the same thing and didn't realize you would be able to find the part# on the needle bearing so easy. Thanks for showing that.

The only thing that I am unsure of is if the newer superchargers are the same. I think the last trd units are Magnussen MP90 units. They look it from the outside. Not sure how bearing replacement is on those. The MP makes the same boost but generates a little less heat. That's why I want to mod my M90, better airflow=cooler. We will see

Looking forward to seeing it. I'm not sure which TRD Supercharger I have yet.

The older m90 like mine says Kazuma on the outlet pipe, if that helps. The new version may not be the mp90 but I'm pretty sure it is
