You guys must really "h8mud"... That is a lot of weight! I'd imagine that kind of mass would be tough to manage on sloppy trails. Well lockers might help...

Mount a .50 cal on the roof and you have a rig ready for War!

Bean does Ok on the trails! Def doesn't have the most flex ever but more than enough for the trouble I get into :)

All that matters is that it takes you where you want to go! Eh Flex is overrated...;) Some days I wish I did't go the SOA/big tires/bigger gears route due to all the stress it puts on the drivetrain, but then I sit back and remind myself about all of the bad a** places that I can explore with the high clearance. And of course show the jeep crowd that Toyota Landcruiser is far superior.

In the end we put money, sweat, and sometimes tears (of joy) into these awesome rigs to make them able to accomplish what WE want them to do.

On a side note, I really enjoy checking out your stuff on instagram. My name on there is: mcguirej3030. You definitely make me want to pack up all of my stuff, load up my cruiser and hit the road.

Keep at it man,

-McGuire

@mcguirejohnson @theron if you ever roll through San Diego again on your way to Baja, Let me know. Would love to meet up, even have a home in Baja to stay at if you and the dog needed a place to crash. Some surf, some beers, some dogs, and some cruisers. I travel down there quite a bit from SD in my cruiser, there are some epic hot springs down there as well. I think i have some of those posted on my instagram @todd.cronin

First time poster here! Thank you for the restoration porn  I dont have a truck yet but I figured this might be a good place to start learning about them. Nice people on here also it seems!

I was suppose to be out on the road shooting a new project traveling via motorcycle + sidecar this summer with my pup but a bike we had with us broke down 5 times.....and after 4 U-Haul rentals it was time to hang up my hat on the project for a few.

I've always want to spend time in the Colorado backcountry and hit a bunch of the trails so I packed up my FJ60 in Nashville and drove west. It's a bit early out here for all of the high mountain passes....but so far all of the trails I've been down have been amazing and wet.

Halfmoon Creek Trail

I forgot to snap a photo but right after this spot we hit deep snow and turned around

Happened across one of the most beautiful fields I've ever camped in, White River National Forest

I've been wanting to run the Holy Cross Trail for moons and it was def awesome. This is the first big obstacle you hit after the 1 way road ends. It doesn't look like much but the rocks were really slick with water + pollen and we had to winch up it

I normally run a snatch block on my rig when I can, any help I can give my Warn 9.5cti-s I figure is good

More obstacles on Holy Cross....funny how photos often make trails look mild

looks like a awesome trail with spectacular scenery! putting it on my list for sure!

Very nice. I wish I had more time to put my cruiser to work on some trails. Too bad there aren't any out east over here.

Aah, what a scenery!!
Sorry to hear about the bike situation. Good thing you have the cruiser to rely on.
Are you travelling alone most of the time? Some photos has to be taken by someone else, or do you use timelapse/remote shooter?

I was thinking the same thing when I realized he has a well trained puppy with him

Wow, just caught up on all of this. Nicely done 60 and on the trips. That just plain sucks about the tent. Out of the "countless" tents this company has sold, I doubt many, if any at all, have seen the wild temperature swings, vibration, and sun exposure that your has. Why did you go with that one instead of the Magi/ Autohome hard case ones?

Makes me miss my 60.

Made it to the Wheeler Lake trail yesterday. So far it's def my fav Colorado trail, the scenery is amazing, you're right in between the mountains. Wasn't able to make it all the way to the lake....hit a bunch of snow...so def gonna come back through later this summer

A lot of the trail is rocky creek bottom w/ tight brush on each side

Gotta love a 60 butt in the air

Heck of a spot for an A-Frame, right off the trail and nothing else around

Hit snow maybe 1/2 way down the trail, had to turn around

My #1 piece of expedition gear is MaxTrax, I wouldn't go anywhere without 'em

Final major obstacle coming back out the trail

This year I've had my buddy Josh traveling with me, he's a musician and can sync up with the unknown/freelance life easily. But it's awesome having someone with me....most of the trails I've been on this year I wouldn't have done solo
