I just purchased new tires for my 1969 FJ40 which are R16 32x11.50s. My old rims are R15 and I am having a problem with figuring out how much backspacing is need for 16x8 wheel. Most things I have read say it needs to be at least 3.5 backspace, but before I buy I need to know for sure. If anyone knows, can they point me in the direction of somewhere to get them. I am also going to put a 4" lift if that makes any difference.

I followed Mr. Manny's advice and got the same wheels as he, 16X7 with 3-1/8 backspace and 35x10.50 TSLs. All four wheels are over disk brakes, 4-Runner Calipers on the front and Monte Carlo's in the rear. Everything is MUY BUENO! Great fit, no interferences, look super and price was awesome ($48 each about two years ago). :grinpimp:

alot depends on how far you want your wheels to stick out or in.
