Hood skirt to cab spacing question (1 Viewer)

Anyone able to help give me some pics or quick measurements for how much space there should be here? The drivers side is hammered dog S, and I want an accurate representative of what it ‘should’ be. 1981

Here’s my starting position on the drivers side.

You gotta get the aprons to fit the fender 1st. Keep in mind there's a rubber strip that attaches on the end of the aprons thar help fill that gap..

To get things lined up, I found starting with hood and bib 1st. Check out this thread,

Hood overhang

So, I have already slotted the brace where it attaches to the frame on the NOS fender to get the driver side fender down approximately 1/4" due to the bib sitting higher to the cowl. Am I getting too critical with the hood overhang to the bib/fender. I have about a 3/16 overhang on the driver...

Cheers for recommending the hood. The passenger side had massive overhang when I bought it but it also had a bent frame back then so… who knows.

First time I’ve had the hood on it in almost 2 years. Lines up well on the passenger, I’ve hammered out the smashed part of the tub on the drivers side and it’s looking decent. Suppose I should just aim for even on both sides vs going for a specific measurement?
