So my front seats are kinda wonky. The drivers seat is some vinyl redo from a local shop (previous owner) and the passenger seat leather is petrified somehow. The seat is rock hard and awful.

Stumbled across some Honda S2000 seats for next to nothing on CL and after doing some measurements, they appeared to line up semi-nicely. I decided to try and swap them in. Was still a rather intensive project requiring cutting, drilling, and welding. If there is any interest in a the details I can type out my design and process. Since the seats have an integrated seatbelt, I was worried that the s2000 seatbelt receiver wouldn’t work but luckily they click right in!

here’s some pics.

Wow! Very nice work.

When you say you stumbled across them for next to nothing, did you mean that you cut open a soft top and took them?

Haha just kidding, looks awesome. I always thought those were comfortable seats

So it’s been a couple days since install and I really like these seats. Then hold you in well but are still very comfortable. They are adjustable via the sliders but have no vertical adjustment. This is why I modded the brackets the way I did, because they were a little low sitting directly on the floor of the truck. In fact the front tabs, if bent down about 45*, lined up perfectly with the front holes. I could’ve used that mounting and welded on the rear brackets but I needed 1.5-2” of extra height and using the sliders like I did worked like a charm.

Overall really happy with it, I can do a full writeup in the future for anyone wanting to swap in their own seats. This has been common practice in the 80 series world (and previous series), and I think as the 100 ages and more people start wheeling them people will swap in both sport seats and regular seats. Was a very fun 5-6 hour project that came out better than I had even expected!

Been a while since I've done much here. I finally monstalined my 100! Pic below and link to the full thread on it. I also got the cruiser outfitters PT kit as well. I also finally installed my winch, since my bumper had to come off for the liner. This truck is going to be a beast for this summer's wheeling trip, deer lease trips, etc.

@atnolan94 - Looking good!!

Where did you source your front (red) recovery brackets?

Last weekend @DirtDawg came down from OKC to help me install my new steering rack. While we were under the truck we installed my PT spool for the @cruiseroutfit PT kit, my @TRAIL TAILOR RLCA skids, some rear brakes, and even new PS hoses from @NLXTACY.

The rack was tricky, we did the engine lift method where you unbolt the DS engine mount and jack the engine up. With two people it was pretty reasonable.Because the oil filter must be dropped, we threw in some fresh amsoil and a new Toyota filter. New feed and return lines went in and I even pulled my PS res for a clean, because years of leaky hoses created some caramelized fluid all over the place!

The RLCA skid install was easy, just make sure you have a good powerful drill for the front facing mounting holes, and a cordless impact driver makes its a lot easier, as the bracket really deforms around the LCA hanger during install, the extra torque helps. Made it a 15 minute install.

The t case spool was fun! Only 2 things hung us up. 1. Was we lost the little oil slinger key that falls out when the output cover comes off the case. Luckily was right under our noses. 2. When you put the large middle cover back on, the top left bearing has to be pulled out some. Luckily there’s a 45 min video that details this process beautifully and he had a simple tip for that exact issue.

I need to go get an alignment done this week, but not in a rush since I don’t DD it. We are in the process of buying a house so it’s just been a zoo as of late. Overall the CDL functions as it should, it’s basically a 2wd/4wd switch plus the manual hubs. Kurt has a long thread on it with lots of real world experience and advice. My main motivation for doing it is I was replacing OEM CVs once a year...at $800 a pair, this kit will pay for itself in a year...I estimate it’ll increase CV life maybe 5x??

You can see my RLCA Hangers have taken a couple hits. These skids are going to fit the bill perfectly. Go order a set for @TRAIL TAILOR
